東洋大学は、地域がより活性化できる仕組みづくりをサポートするための社会貢献・連携活動を推進しています。2022年10月12日には、東洋大学は横浜市と公民連携に関する共同研究や人材育成を通じて、公民連携分野の発展と地域活性化を促進することを目的とした連携協定を締結しました。横浜市はこれまで、多様な主体と“共に価値を創る”「共創」の取り組みを進めてきました。今後も引き続き、少子高齢化や公共施設の老朽化など様々な社会課題・行政課題に対応していくにあたり、「公民連携」は必要であるとの考え方を示しています。その他にも、埼玉県川島町や奈良県広陵町、群馬県高山村とも協定を締結しており、地域との連携を通じて、自治体や団体が抱える課題の解決をともに考え、対策を実践していきます。

Toyo University promotes social contribution and cooperation activities to support local communities in creating systems to implement revitalization plans. Among the latest examples is the cooperation agreement signed with the City of Yokohama on October 12, 2022, which is for implementing joint research and educational programs with the objective of developing public-private cooperation activities and facilitating regional revitalization. The City of Yokohama has been implementing “co-creation” initiatives to create value in cooperation with various entities. The City has expressed its commitment to public-private cooperation, as an essential approach to tackle various social and administrative issues, such as demographic challenges and dilapidated public facilities. We have also concluded cooperation agreements with Kawajima Town in Saitama Prefecture, Koryo Town in Nara Prefecture, and Takayama Village in Gunma Prefecture. Based on the agreements concluded, we are working with each of the municipalities and regional organizations to create and carry out plans to solve local issues.
