東洋大学では毎年、学生の実態を把握して教育環境の課題発見や改革、改善につなげるため、「新入生」「在学生」「卒業時」の３つの学生アンケートを実施しています。2022年11月に実施した在学生アンケートでは、「学習・大学生活を通じて身についたこと」の設問に対して、「専門的な知識・技能」「幅広い教養」「コミュニケーション・スキル」を選択した学生の割合が前年度から上昇。さらに「現在、不安を感じていること」の設問では、「仲の良い友人を作れるか」を選択した学生が前年度の33.0％から18.8％に減少するなど、不安を感じている割合が全体的に和らぐ結果となりました。対面による授業やイベントの再開で学生たちが活動の場を徐々に取り戻し、コミュニケーションをとることでコロナ禍の不安が次第に解消されていることが推測されます。今後も学生が充実したキャンパスライフを送れるように実態把握と改善に取り組んでいきます。

Every year, Toyo University conducts three student surveys, targeting “new students,” “current students,” and “just graduated students,” respectively, with the aim of understanding the situation related to students to identify issues with the educational environment and plan reform and improvement measures. In the surveys conducted in November 2022, the percentage of responses to questions about abilities acquired from learning and other university activities increased for "specialized knowledge and skills,” “wide-ranging education,” and “communication skills,” compared with the results of the previous academic year’s surveys. The same surveys indicated an overall tendency toward reduced anxiety felt by students, as exemplified by the percentage citing “friendship formation” to a question about current concerns decreasing to 18.8% from 33.0% in the previous academic year. This can be attributed to the recent change in the environment, allowing students to come back to the campus and engage in face-to-face learning and other activities. Presumably, student anxiety is recovering from a COVID-19 while increasing in-person communication on the campus. Going forward, we will continue with efforts to understand and improve the situation related to students, looking to enhance their campus life.
