東京五輪代表に在学生2名、卒業生2名が内定
2019年10月27日、山形県高畠町で開催された「第58回全日本50㎞競歩高畠大会」において、本学総合情報学部総合情報学科3年（当時）の陸上競技部・川野将虎選手が3時間36分45秒の日本記録を樹立して優勝。東京五輪男子50km競歩の日本代表に内定しました。
Two current students and two alumni unofficially qualified for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo
On October 27, 2019, racewalker Masatora Kawano, a (then) third-year student at the Department of Information Sciences and Arts, Faculty of Information Sciences and Arts, Toyo University, won the 58th All-Japan 50 km Walk in Takahata, Yamagata Prefecture, setting a new national record of 3:36:45. He unofficially qualified to represent Japan in the men’s 50 km racewalking in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
また、2020年3月15日に石川県能美市で開催された「第44回全日本競歩能美大会」では、本学経済学部3年（当時）の陸上競技部・池田向希選手が1時間18分22秒で優勝。東京五輪男子20km競歩の日本代表に内定しました。
Moreover, on March 15, 2020, racewalker Koki Ikeda, a (then) third-year student at the Faculty of Economics, Toyo University, won the men’s 20 km race in the 44th All-Japan Walk in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture, clocking a time of 1:18:22. He unofficially qualified to represent Japan in the men’s 20 km racewalking in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
本学の卒業生からは、服部勇馬選手が男子マラソン、山口凌河選手がゴールボールで東京五輪・パラ大会代表に内定しています。
Two Toyo University alumni—Mr. Yuma Hattori and Mr. Ryoga Yamaguchi—have already unofficially qualified for the men’s marathon in the Olympics and goalball in the Paralympics, respectively, in Tokyo.
ユニバーシアード競技大会（イタリア・ナポリ）で好成績
国際大学スポーツ連盟（FISU）が主催し、学生のためのオリンピックとも言われるユニバーシアード競技大会。その第30回大会が2019年7月3日〜14日にイタリア・ナポリで開催されました。本学の選手は金５個、銀４個、銅１個のメダル獲得という好成績を収めました。
Toyo University athletes make remarkable achievements in the Universiade (Napoli, Italy)
The Universiade is an international sporting event organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and is also known as an “Olympiad for students.” The 30th Summer Universiade was held in Napoli, Italy, from July 3 to 14, 2019. Toyo University athletes delivered outstanding performances, winning five gold medals, four silver, and one bronze.

プロ野球ドラフト会議で千葉ロッテマリーンズから2位指名
2019年10月17日に行われたプロ野球のドラフト会議で、本学法学部4年（当時）で硬式野球部主将の佐藤都志也選手（捕手）が、千葉ロッテマリーンズの2位指名を受けました。
このドラフト会議に合わせて、東京都文京区の白山キャンパス125記念ホールにおいて記者会見を行い、マスコミ各社が集まる中、喜びと抱負を語りました。
Toyo Baseball Club member drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the second round
At the professional baseball draft held on October 17, 2019, catcher and Hard Baseball Club Captain Toshiya Sato, a (then) fourth-year student at the Faculty of Law, Toyo University, was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the second round.
A press conference for the draft was held at the 125 Memorial Hall, Hakusan Campus in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, where Mr. Sato expressed his delight and aspirations in front of many media people.
