地域とともに企業の未来を考えるオンラインシンポジウムを開催
Held an Online Symposium to Explore the Future of Companies with Locals
2020年12月17日に東洋大学と東京東信用金庫の共催で、東京都が後援するオンラインシンポジウム「Tokyoイーストの“元気”と地域中小企業の挑戦」を開催しました。本シンポジウムは、東洋大学と産学連携の協定を結んでいる東京東信用金庫が立地する東京都東部地域「Tokyoイースト」の産業振興に貢献するべく、中小企業経営に関する研究者である山本聡教授（経営学部／産官学連携推進センター副センター長）をコーディネーターとし、東京都東部地域の中小企業経営者とコロナ禍での事業継続について議論を交わすものです。東京都東部地域には、数多くの中小企業が集まっています。その中には地域とともに歩みつつ、多様な人材を獲得、活用し、新たな販路を開拓することで事業を成長させている企業が幾つも存在し、グローバルな成長を遂げている企業も少なくありません。また、2019年度には東京都より「東京都中小企業振興ビジョン」が制定されるなど、政策的にも注目が集まる分野です。当日は約400名が参加。5名のパネラーがコロナ禍での事業継続の難しさと前向きに事業を進める術を語り合いました。開催にあたって、2020年10月に小池百合子東京都知事への表敬訪問を行い、本シンポジウムへのビデオメッセージをいただきました。

On December 17, 2020, the University and The Tokyo Higashi Shinkin Bank jointly held “The Vitality of East Tokyo and Challenges of Local SMEs," an online symposium sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. With the aim of contributing to the industrial promotion of East Tokyo, the region which is home to The Tokyo Higashi Shinkin Bank, which has concluded an industry-academic collaboration agreement with the University, Professor Satoshi Yamamoto (Faculty of Business Administration and Deputy Director of the Industry-Government-Academia Partnership Center), a researcher on business management of small and medium-sized enterprises, SMEs, coordinated the symposium. In the panel discussion, CEOs of local SMEs discussed the difficulty of business continuation during the COVID-19 pandemic. A large number of SMEs is concentrated in the eastern part of Tokyo. Many of them are growing their businesses by acquiring and utilizing diverse human resources and developing new sales channels while working with the local community. Many are also expanding globally. In addition, as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government enacted the "Vision for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises in Tokyo" in FY 2019. This proves that the field is attracting political attention. The symposium had about 400 attendees. Five panelists spoke about the difficulties of continuing business during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as how to conduct business with a positive attitude. For conducting the symposium, we made a courtesy visit to Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike in October 2020, and received a video message for the symposium.
