英国の教育専門誌タイムズ・ハイヤー・エデュケーション（THE）は、世界の大学を多角的に評価するさまざまなランキングを発表しています。2021年3月に発表された「世界大学ランキング日本版2021」では、私立の首都圏大規模大学(※)において14位（全体77位）に選出されました。このランキングは、大学の教育環境や学生の学びの質、成長性に注目し、「教育リソース」「教育充実度」「教育成果」「国際性」の4分野16項目を指標として作成されます。東洋大学は、「教育充実度」の項目で6位※（全体27位）、「国際性」で11位※（全体47位）と特に高く評価されました。

2021年4月には「THE大学インパクトランキング2021」が公開。これは国連が掲げるSDGs（持続可能な開発目標）の枠組みで大学の「社会貢献度」を可視化するものです。東洋大学は「SDG 11：住み続けられるまちづくり」「SDG17：パートナーシップで目標を達成しよう」などの項目が評価され、世界中で1,115機関がエントリーする総合ランキングにおいて401～600位 、国内17位タイという結果でした。さらなる教育環境の拡充、諸課題への取り組みを推進していきます。

Times Higher Education (THE), a British magazine specializing in education, announces various rankings to evaluate universities around the world from many different aspects. In the THE World University Rankings (Japan University Rankings) 2021 released in March 2021, Toyo University was ranked 14th (77th overall) among from large-scale private universities in the Tokyo metropolitan area.* These rankings are compiled with a focus on universities’ educational environment, learning quality for students, and potential for growth. They are based on 16 indicators in four areas: educational resources, educational enrichment, educational achievements, and internationality. Toyo University received a high evaluation, ranking 6th (27th overall) in the educational enrichment and 11th (47th overall) in the internationality indicators.

In April 2021, the THE University Impact Rankings 2021 were released. The rankings show the degree of social contribution of each university within the framework of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Toyo University was evaluated for indicators of SDG 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities” and SDG 17, “Partnerships for the Goals.” It was ranked in the 401–600 range in the global rankings, to which 1,115 institutions across the world had entered, and tied for 17th in Japan. Toyo University will further expand our educational environment and promote our efforts to address various issues.
