「東洋大学重点研究推進プログラム」で先端的かつ独創的な研究を推進 Promoting Advanced and Creative Research through Toyo University Top Priority Research Program

複雑化した現代社会の課題に取り組むためには、学問領域の垣根を越え、多分野の研究者がチームとなって課題に取り組むことが不可欠であることから、東洋大学では2018年度に学内公募型研究助成制度「東洋大学重点研究推進プログラム」を創設しました。学際的に組織された研究プロジェクトの成果をもって地球レベルの課題解決に貢献するとともに、大学のブランドとなり得る研究活動を支援しています。

以下の8つの重点研究課題を設定し、学内研究者による研究拠点、研究グループを公募しました。新たに２件が採択され、2021年度は7つの研究プロジェクトが進んでいます。

重点研究課題

  • ❶グローバルな協調を取り戻すための研究
  • ❷IoT、ビッグデータ、人工知能（AI）、データエコノミー、Fintechなど情報通信技術革新を含むデジタルトランスフォーメーション（DX）に関わる研究
  • ❸福祉改革の促進、健康寿命延伸の観点からの医療・健康福祉、食環境、生命科学分野等の先進国をリードする研究
  • ❹産業のイノベーション力の創造的開発と、それを強化する社会システムの革新研究
  • ❺SDGsの達成に貢献する研究、または同課題達成に向けたテーマ性を有する研究
  • ❻ポストコロナにおける各種教育の高度化に資する研究
  • ❼東洋大学の150周年を視野に入れて、大学としての個性化とブランド力を高めるための研究
  • ❽上記（1）～（7）の課題に対処するための哲学・倫理・文化等の人文学研究

In order to address issues in today's increasingly complex society, it is essential that researchers from multiple fields transcend the boundaries of academic fields and work together as a team. Therefore, we establishedToyo University Top Priority Research Program,, a research grant program that invited university-wide applications, in AY2018. The program supports research activities that can contribute to solving global issues with the results of interdisciplinary designed research projects and that can become the University's brand.

We set up the following eight focal research issues and invited applications for research centers and groups by researchers within the University. With two projects newly selected, a total of seven research projects are in progress in AY 2021.

Priority Research Issues

  • (1) Research to restore global harmony
  • (2) Research related to digital transformation including technological innovation in information and communications such as IoT, big data, AI, data economy, and Fintech
  • (3) Leading research in advanced nations such as in the fields of medical and health welfare, food environment, and life sciences from the perspective of promoting welfare reforms and extending healthy life expectancies
  • (4) Creative development of the ability of industry to innovate, and innovative research of social systems to enhance such development
  • (5) Research that contributes to the achievement of the SDGs, or has a thematic focus toward the achievement of the goals
  • (6) Research that contributes to the advancement of various types of education in the post-COVID-19 era
  • (7) Research that enhances the university's individualization and brand power with a view to the 150th anniversary of Toyo University
  • (8) Humanities research on philosophy, ethics and culture to address the issues raised in the above (1) to (7) issues
