Collaborating with Stakeholders as an Educational and Research Institution to Become a University Open to Society

開かれた学術拠点として地域社会との連携体制を強化 Strengthening the System for Collaboration with Local Communities as an Academic Hub Open to Society

赤羽台キャンパスにおいて計画しているライフデザイン学部等の朝霞キャンパスからの移転(2021年4月予定)、並びに福祉社会デザイン学部・健康スポーツ科学部の設置(2023年4月開設に向け設置構想中)を見据え、地域社会との連携体制を強化しています。

2019年2月14日、東京都北区と「東京都北区と学校法人東洋大学との包括協定推進に関する覚書」を締結しました。北区と本法人は、2011年6月に「連携協力に関する包括協定」、2017年3月に「新たな連携施策に関する覚書」を締結し連携を進めてきましたが、2017年3月の覚書を発展的に解消し、新たな覚書を締結。これに基づき、次の事項について連携事業を推進していきます。

  1. (1)教育・研究に関わる連携事業に関する事項
  2. (2)社会貢献、社会連携事業に関する事項
  3. (3)ワンストップ窓口を通じた地域産業連携事業等の拡大に関する事項

In preparation for the relocation of the Faculty and Graduate School of Human Life Design to the Akabanedai Campus (planned for April 2021) and the establishment of the Faculty of Design for Welfare Society and the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences at the same campus (planned for April 2023), Toyo University has strengthened the system for collaborating with local communities.

On February 14, 2019, the Toyo University Incorporated Educational Institution and Kita City, Tokyo, signed a “Memorandum on the Promotion of a Comprehensive Agreement between Kita City, Tokyo, and the Toyo University Incorporated Educational Institution.” The two parties had promoted a partnership, signing a “Comprehensive Agreement on a Collaborative Partnership” in June 2011 and a “Memorandum on New Collaborative Measures” in March 2017, and canceled the March 2017 memorandum in a developmental way in order to sign the new one. Based on the latest memorandum, both parties will promote collaborative projects on the following issues:

  1. (1) Collaborative projects related to education and research
  2. (2) Projects for social contribution and collaboration with stakeholders
  3. (3) Expansion of collaborative projects for local industries through a one-stop contact point

また、2019年2月26日には、独立行政法人都市再生機構(UR都市機構)と「学校法人東洋大学と独立行政法人都市再生機構との連携協力に関する包括協定」を締結しました。本学赤羽台キャンパス周辺の団地をフィールドに、次の事項について連携協力します。

  1. (1)子育て支援に関する事項
  2. (2)若年世代の団地内居住の促進に関する事項
  3. (3)高齢者支援に関する事項
  4. (4)コミュニティの活性化支援に関する事項
  5. (5)新たなライフスタイルの提案に関する事項
  6. (6)団地住民の健康増進に関する事項
  7. (7)団地の活性化に関する事項
  8. (8)その他東洋大学とUR都市機構が必要と認める事項

これらの覚書・協定に基づく今後の具体的な取組について、継続的に協議を行い、順次実施していきます。

Moreover, on February 26, 2019, the Toyo University Incorporated Educational Institution and the Urban Renaissance Agency (UR) concluded a “Comprehensive Agreement on a Collaborative Partnership between the Toyo University Incorporated Educational Institution and the Urban Renaissance Agency.” In the field of housing complexes around the Akabanedai Campus, with the two parties collaborating on the following issues:

  1. (1) Parenting support
  2. (2) Encouragement of younger generations to live in housing complexes
  3. (3) Support for the elderly
  4. (4) Assistance in invigorating local communities
  5. (5) Proposals for new lifestyles
  6. (6) Health enhancement for housing complex residents
  7. (7) Invigoration of housing complexes
  8. (8) Other issues that Toyo University and UR recognize as requiring collaborative efforts

Going forward, Toyo University will continue to discuss with its partners about specific activities that should be conducted based on the memorandum and the agreement, and begin to conduct necessary activities.
