東洋大学の人間価値研究会ダイバーシティ研究グループは、企業や団体で推進されている女性の活躍状況を客観的に評価する指標「女性活躍インデックス」を2017年に開発。産業・企業ごとの推進度の可視化、経年変化、経営改革への評価など男女共同参画状況の把握や推進の一助になることを目指しています。

2018年8月、同インデックスを用いて厚生労働省「女性の活躍推進企業データベース」の登録1,078法人を対象とした、「法人ランキング2018」「業種ランキング2018」を発表しました。指標にした項目は、女性の平均継続勤務年数、男性の平均継続勤務年数、管理職に占める女性労働者の割合など7項目。法人では、1位に東建コーポレーション株式会社、2位に銀座アスター食品株式会社、3位に株式会社ローソンがランク入り。本学Webサイトで、法人別、業種別ランキング結果に加え、必要な数値を入力することでポイント偏差値が算出されるシミュレーションを公開しています。

In 2017, the Diversity Research Group, Toyo University Human Value Research Council, developed the Women’s Empowerment Index, which objectively assesses the status of women’s participation and success promoted by companies and organizations. The index is aimed at helping to understand the reality of gender equality at corporations in Japan and to promote it by visualizing the level of gender equality promotion by industry or corporation, showing yearly changes thereof, and assessing management reforms.

In August 2018, the group announced the Company Rankings 2018 and Industry Rankings 2018, which uses the index and covers 1,078 corporations registered in the database of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. The index is constructed with seven parameters, including average number of years of continuous service by women, average number of years of continuous service by men, and the percentage of women among managerial staff. The Company Rankings list Token Corporation at the top, Ginza Aster Co., Ltd. in second place, and Lawson, Inc. in third place. The Toyo University website shows Company Rankings and Industry Rankings, and offers a simulation program whereby users can obtain company deviation values by entering the necessary parameters.
