マレーシア首相のマハティール・ビン・モハマド氏は、学校法人東洋大学顧問（学術研究）とアジアPPP研究所の名誉アドバイザー（日本側名誉顧問は、福田康夫元首相）を務めています。2018年11月7日、そのマハティール首相をお招きし、白山キャンパスのスカイホールにて国際学部や経済学研究科公民連携専攻に在籍する学生との対話集会を開催しました。

マハティール首相は、学生からの質問に対し、ご自身の経験や見識を踏まえ丁寧に回答。国際関係や日本のあり方を考えていくうえで貴重な対話集会になりました。

Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, serves as Counselor (Academic Research) to the Toyo University Incorporated Educational Institution and as Honorary Advisor to the University’s Asia Public/Private Partnership Institute. (Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan, serves as Honorary Advisor from Japan.) On November 7, 2018, Toyo University hosted a dialogue meeting between guest speaker Dr. Mahathir and students at the Faculty of Global and Regional Studies and the Course of Public/Private Partnership, Graduate School of Economics, at the Sky Hall, Hakusan Campus.

Tun Dr. Mahathir carefully answered questions from students based on his own vast experience and knowledge. The dialogue meeting proved to be a valuable opportunity for the attendees to consider desirable states of international relations as well as Japan’s state going toward the future.
