Who are the SDGs Ambassadors?
SDGs Ambassadors are students at Toyo University who engage in various activities that help Toyo and the world achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There are thousands of ways to work as an SDGs Ambassador, including organizing learning events, coordinating volunteer activities, or hosing study group in the dormitory. Therefore, the Ambassadors are expected to excel not only in academic performance but also social, communication, coordination, and leadership skills. |

From South KoreaQ.1 What motivated your interest in SDGs ?
I learned about the SDGs in a Korean lesson in my first year of high school. I have always been interested in social issues, and I alsocollected donations for people suering from poverty in Africa. When I saw the call for Toyo University’s SDGs Ambassador Program, I was certain that I wanted to try out for it.
Q.2 How is your student life since joining Toyo University in April ?
Students at Toyo University enjoy a very enriched lifestyle. I have been able to make friends among Japanese and international students both on the Kawagoe Campus and in the dormitory, AI-House. I also joined Gakuvolu, a student group that engages in volunteer activities, and Vegepro Toyo, a student group that is working to add vegan meals to the cafeteria. I hope to cooperate in activities with Japanese SDGs Ambassadors.
Q.3 What strengths do you want to develop during your studies ?
My reason for entering the Faculty of Information Sciences and Arts was because I wanted to learn programming. I believe IT skills will be needed in all industries with the digitization of society. In the future, I am interested in making use of IT and using online technology to provide educational opportunities to children who cannot receive education. As an initiative to increase recognition of the SDGs within the university, I want to make the most of my strengths as a South Korean person and interview companies that are contributing to the SDGs in South Korea so that I can introduce them in Japan. In addition, there is a social issue that many children in poor households in Japan cannot eat three meals a day, so I hope to be able to conduct volunteer activities to support children.

From ChinaQ.1 What motivated your interest in SDGs ?
I first learned about SDGs from the TV news programs when I was in elementary school.
In my part-time jobs after high school, I began to think about workers’ rights and fair compensation, and I became particularly interested in the working environment faced by youth.Q.2 How is your student life since joining Toyo University in April ?
I’m very much enjoying my student life. In particular, my professor who leads one of the classes I’m taking, is very intelligent and I’m learning many things. I also really like the cafeteria, where you can get a meal for 550yen. I’m currently staying at AI-House, where it’s a lot of fun with students from many countries. I also play soccer weekly with Japanese students.
Q.3 What strengths do you want to develop during your studies ?
I’m interested in social analysis and would like to deepen my knowledge in this area during my four years of undergraduate studies.I feel that being able to deeply understand and analyze the society I live in will provide the ability to enrich society and my own life. As to my plans as an SDGs ambassador,I’d like to create a Vlog to enlighten people about youth labor issues. I think it would be great if we could cooperate with the Japanese SDGs ambassadors.

From FranceQ.1 What motivated your interest in SDGs ?
I first learned about the SDGs through the French educational system. Our world is very unequal and certain countries suer from hardships like water and food shortages more than others. People's lives are also threatened by environmental problems unfairly. I wish to raise awareness of these issues through my actions at Toyo University.
Q.2 How is your student life since joining Toyo University in April ?
I am really enjoying my time here. The faculty, staff, and my fellow students are all very friendly. I was previously studying here as an exchange student, but I decided to apply for the SDGs Ambassador Program to study International Relations at Toyo. Now, I am able to spend more time on campus and enjoy socializing with friends at the ECZ and the cafeteria. I live at the Ai-House and it is very exciting to be able to meet with peoplefrom so many dierent countries and live with them.
Q.3 What strengths do you want to develop during your studies ?
I want to be a leader who can be a light for other students. I am particularly interested in the topics of health, gender equality,cultural exchange, and information. Underthe guidance of Professor Fiona Sussan of the Department of Global Innovation Studies in the Faculty of Global and Regional Studies,I am working on activities that utilize social media. In the future, I would like to work in Japan and make use of the three languages that I speak as much as possible.
