Study Abroad at Toyo

You can not only attend standard coursework but also participate in our Business Japanese program and internships. If you have an interest in working in Japan, building a career using Japanese, or doing business in Japan in the future, we highly recommend this program to you.

Program Appeal

1. As an international exchange student, your tuition at Toyo University will be waived.
   Furthermore, you are eligible to special scholarships at Toyo University
2. Once accepted by Toyo University as an inbound exchange student under the Inter-University Exchange Project, you can attend Toyo University’s Japanese language program even before arriving in Japan as well as during your study abroad period.
3. Participants with advanced language skills will have the chance to take part in internships at Japanese companies and organizations.

Study Abroad at Toyo

Internships for international students

For students with advanced proficiency, internship opportunities at Japanese companies, NPOs, and chambers of commerce will be available. Participants first undergo thorough training in business manners before starting their internships. It’s an excellent opportunity to put your Japanese skills to use and gain experience working in Japan.

Program Appeal

1. You can gain valuable insights into the Japanese corporate culture while working in a professional setting. This program is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the Japanese work environment and learn from experienced professionals.

Japanese Language Programs for International Students

2. Tuition fees for Japanese language education classes are waived.
3. You can take the Business Japanese Test (BJT Test) at a discounted rate. With Toyo University's support, a portion of the test fees will be covered, giving participants the opportunity to measure their progress and achieve their language learning goals.

Japanese Language Programs for International Students

Asia-Pacific Online Exchange Program (OEP)

You can attend Toyo University’s online courses offered for the Asia-Pacific Exchange Program (OEP) and earn credits. One of the advantages of this format is that students can attend Toyo University courses from their home countries. All courses are taught in English and focus on themes related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, the program is free of charge, enabling students to study abroad without any financial constraints.

Program Appeal

1. You can take courses at Toyo University without the need to travel.
2. By participating in Toyo University's courses, you can earn credits and receive a transcript to showcase your academic achievements.
3. You'll have the opportunity to study alongside fellow students from Toyo University and other countries, making it a truly global and diverse learning experience.

Online Exchange Program (OEP)

International Student Meeting (ISM)

Join Toyo University students online and delve deeper into Japan’s culture and language! By participating in the International Students Meeting (ISM), you can apply your Japanese language skills in conversations with native speakers. ISM participants will be grouped into small groups to discuss various topics in Japanese with Toyo students. Each session lasts approximately two hours long, making it ideal for those with busy schedules. Get ready to broaden your understanding of Japan and have fun while doing it!

Program Appeal

1. Chat with native Japanese students and put your Japanese language skills to use.
2. Learn about Japan from Toyo students.
3. Completion certificates are issued in some cases.

Each ISM lasts from 1 to 2 hours

International Student Meetings (ISM)

Toyo Model UN (Toyo MUN)

In this program, students are entrusted with the role of global ambassadors and tasked with representing various nations in a mock United Nations meeting. In preparation for this event, participants conduct in-depth research on selected global issues and engage in persuasive speeches and negotiations to find solutions.
In 2021, Toyo MUN saw an impressive turnout, with over 70 students from around the world taking part in this challenging and stimulating event. The entire meeting is conducted in English, allowing participants to enhance their language skills while immersing themselves in a multicultural environment.

Program Appeal

1. You will have the opportunity to interact with students from all over the world, enriching your learning experience through exposure to diverse cultural perspectives.
2. By participating in this program, you can enhance your understanding of global issues and engage in constructive discussions and exchanges of opinions with fellow students from around the globe.
3. The program is conducted entirely in English, providing you with a chance to improve your language skills and communicate effectively with a multicultural community of peers.
