For Toyo Students

As part of our commitment to the “Inter-University Exchange Project: Creation of Inter-University Exchanges in the Indo-Pacific Region”
we are launching diverse programs to develop business professionals with a global mindset who can make valuable contributions to multicultural society. Our initiatives are designed to foster cross-cultural competence and promote a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives.

Study Abroad at Project Partner Universities

While participating in mid/long-term language programs at partner universities and long-term study abroad program, you will support the Japanese education of local students. Participants receive thorough training in advance, so even students with no experience in Japanese education can take part with peace of mind.

Program Appeal

  1. In additon to the shcolarships for study abroad provided by Toyo University, you will also be eligible for special scholarships exclusive to this project.
  2. You will have the chance to study abroad while also contributing to the advancement of Japanese education.
  3. You can participate in the project while remaining enrolled at Toyo University.

Duration

From 3 months up to 2 semesters

How to Apply

Apply through Toyo University mid/long-term language program at partner universities or long-term study abroad program.

Departure Period

Twice per year in the spring and fall. Timing varies depending on the destination institution.

Program Appeal
International Students Meeting (ISM)

This is a unique multicultural exchange event that enables Toyo University students to engage with students who are studying Japanese at partner universities through an online format. Participants are divided into small groups, and a different discussion topic is provided for each session. Since this event is predominantly conducted in Japanese, students who struggle with English can participate with ease of mind. Furthermore,, the event only lasts for 2 hours, making it convenient and not requiring a significant commitment. This program is well-received and attracts repeat participants.

Program Appeal

  1. As a general rule, this program will be conducted in Japanese, which means you do not worry about your English proficiency when participating in ISM.
  2. You can immerse yourself in the diverse cultures and lifestyles of students learning Japanese from various countries across the world. You will be able to make new friends and expand their personal networks.
  3. You can earn TGL points.

International Student Meeting (ISM)
Toyo Model UN (Toyo MUN)

In this activity, students assume the role of diplomats representing different nations, and participate in a simulated UN meeting. Prior to the event, participants conduct research on the discussion topics and engage in speeches and negotiations to tackle global issues. The event takes place at Toyo University where students play a pivotal role as interns in its planning and operations Advanced proficiency in English language is necessary, but this activity offers valuable change to acquire a diverse range of leadership and negotiation skills.

Program Appeal

  1. Become more knowledgeable on global issues and gain a global perspective.
  2. Several types of participation are available. If you participate as an intern, you can engage in its planning to operation.
  3. Further improve your English to the next level.

Event Period

2 days ( in March every year)
However, students who participate as interns will have a preparation period starting several months prior to the event for training, etc.
