Message from the Course Chair

Supporting high-level professionals who continue to learn – Turning daily challenges into learning material

The objective of this course is to support high-level professionals who continue to learn. The main four fields of this course are school education, educational psychology and educational counseling, life-long learning and social education, and special needs education.

The students that have taken this course until present have come from various backgrounds such as, teachers from kindergarten, elementary, junior high, high school, special needs schools, and universities, as well as nurses, nursing school and nursing university teachers, physical therapists, employees of NPOs, company HR staff, and local community volunteers. In this course, these students carried out practical research that led to improvement or a change in their approach, of problems they have in their workplace, local area, or in the course of their lives. This is because, for adult learning, daily challenges are genuine learning material. Also, after course completion, we return students to society with their research findings and the ability to continue learning.

Symbolized by technology such as AI and regenerative medicine, the 21st century is being called the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Amidst unpredictable change, with education as a common field, together with people that come from various backgrounds, won’t you consider: why people learn? How to interact with society through learning? And, what is living together supporting one another?

Additionally, in this course, you can obtain a Specialized Teacher’s Certificate of junior high, high, special needs, and elementary schools. Also, we have entrance exams targeted at working people and a day/evening curriculum. The education course supports professionals who continue to learn.

 

Overview of the Course

This course is comprised of four fields: school education, educational psychology and educational counseling, life-long learning and social education, and special needs education.

What is unique about this course is that based on problems or doubts that you have in your situation or workplace, you can perform practical research that leads to the improvement of these issues.

We have made the course so that students, for example, teachers of various schools from pre-primary to high school education, those involved in the training of staff or development of junior employees at the local, company, or workplace level, can continue to study and research while working.

As of April 2012, it became possible to acquire an Elementary School Specialized Teacher’s Certificate.

In this course, you have the opportunity to obtain credits, as well as Specialized Teacher’s Certificate of junior high, high, special needs, and elementary schools. Please use this course to solve various problems at school, workplaces, or the regional level.

専攻長メッセージ

学び続ける高度職業人をサポート -日々の葛藤を生きた教材に-

本専攻は、学び続ける高度職業人をサポートすることを目的としています。主たる専攻領域は「学校教育」「教育心理学・教育相談」「生涯学習・社会教育」「特別支援教育」の4領域です。

これまで本専攻で学んだ大学院生は、幼稚園教諭、小・中・高校、特別支援学校の教員、大学教員のほか、看護師、看護専門学校・看護系大学教員、理学療法士、NPO職員、企業の人事担当者、地域のボランティアなど多様な背景を持つ方々です。そうした皆さんが本専攻で、それぞれのおかれた職場や地域、ライフコースで抱える課題をテーマに、問題のとらえ直しや改善につながる実践的な研究を行ってきました。大人の学びにとって、日々の葛藤こそが生きた教材だからです。また、修了後は、研究成果と学び続けるスキルを携え、社会に還元しています。

21世紀は、人工知能や再生医療などに象徴される、第4次産業革命の時代とよばれています。予測のつかない変化の中で、人はなぜ学ぶのか、また学びを通して社会とどうかかわるのか、人間が人間を支え、ともに生きるとはどういうことなのか、教育を共通のフィールドとして多様な背景をもつ人々と考えてみませんか。

なお、本専攻では、小学校・中学校・高等学校・特別支援学校等の教員の「専修免許状」を取得することができます。また、社会人を対象とした入試や昼夜開講のカリキュラムを実施しています。教育学専攻は、学び続ける職業人をサポートします。

概要

本専攻は「学校教育」「教育心理・相談」「生涯学習」「特別支援教育」の4領域の構成とし、その特色といえるのが各自のおかれた状況、職場で抱える問題や疑問をテーマに、その改善につながる実践的な研究を行える点です。

就学前教育から高等教育までのさまざまな学校における教職員の方々、地域や企業・職場において後進の育成や職員の研修の活動に携わっている方々など、働きながら研究・学習を続けられるように履修の形態や科目を整備・充実しています。

また、平成24(2012)年4月からは「小学校教員専修免許状」も取得できるようになりました。

中学校・高等学校・特別支援学校・小学校教員の「専修免許状」や学位取得の機会も整った
本専攻を、学校・職場・地域でのさまざまな問題の解決のためにぜひご活用ください。
