About Toyo University The 24th Homecoming Day
The 24th Toyo University Homecoming Day was held online on October 24, 2021.
One of the main events was the streaming of the award ceremony and presentation with all Toyo University students and alumni who participated in the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games as athletes or coaches in attendance.
Toyo University Olympic and Paralympic Award Ceremony
Toyo alumni TBS announcer Wataru Ogasawara (1996 Graduate, Faculty of Sociology) took the role of MC. Chairman Takashi Anzai gave awards to the athletes and coaches who took part in the Games for their contribution in greatly increasing the reputation of Toyo University and promoting the university on the global stage. The excitement of the summer was relived at the award ceremony with congratulatory speeches from both Chairman Anzai and President Etsuko Yaguchi.

Toyo University Olympic and Paralympic Presentation
The presentation was hosted by TBS announcer Wataru Ogasawara and Barbie from the comedy duo Fall in Love (2006 Graduate, Faculty of Literature), who looked back over the events of the 2020 Tokyo Games with the athletes and coaches. In the relaxed atmosphere of their alma mater, discussions with the athletes included topics such as, “Has there been a change in how you spend your time or how you feel now that the games have finished?” “How was the Athlete’s Village?” and “How was it to compete without spectators?” Videos with messages from the athletes and coaches who could not attend the presentation were played. We were once again strongly reminded that many people affiliated with Toyo University played an active role in the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
