Research Facility Center, Asaka, Toyo University
Director
Hideo Kawaguchi
Professor, Department of Life Sciences,
Faculty of Life Sciences

The Research Facility Center, Asaka, Toyo University was established in October 2024 with the aim of further strengthening collaboration among researchers and research institutions both within and outside the university.

Of the more than 200 research instruments installed on the Asaka Campus, approximately 30 are available for shared use through this center. By promoting joint use of these instruments, we aim to make effective use of the university’s research resources, invigorate research activities, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration as well as commissioned research from companies and other research institutions. The center is organized into four specialized divisions—Biological Information, Engineering, Morphological Analysis, and Instrumental Analysis—each staffed with highly skilled research technicians who provide comprehensive support, from measurement guidance to equipment maintenance.

Guided by the founding spirit of Dr. Enryo Inoue, who proclaimed that “the foundation of all learning lies in philosophy,” Toyo University places great emphasis on philosophical and ethical perspectives across all research fields, including the natural sciences. We believe that establishing this center in alignment with that ethos will further enhance the distinctiveness of the university’s research.

Through collaboration among researchers, institutions, and companies, we seek to foster an open-minded environment where knowledge is freely exchanged and new value is created. As a research hub open to society, the center is committed to contributing these outcomes back to the community.

We look forward to your active participation and use of our facilities.
