Formulation of a Medium-Term Plan

学校法人東洋大学は、2024年度までの5年間の活動の指針となる中期計画「TOYO GRAND DESIGN 2020-2024」を策定。この中期計画に基づくキャンパスの整備や学部学科の再編を計画しています。

Toyo University Incorporated Educational Institution formulated the medium-term plan, “TOYO GRAND DESIGN 2020-2024,” to provide guidelines for its activities for the five years to AY2024. Based on this plan, the university will make improvements on its campuses and restructure its faculties and departments.

創立者・井上円了の理念“他者のために自己を磨く”に基づき「地球社会の明るい未来を拓く」を目標とする「TOYO GRAND DESIGN 2020-2024」では、「研究」「教育」「社会貢献・社会連携」と、それらを実現するための「新規事業」「ガバナンス・マネジメント」の5つの領域で今後の方針を策定しました。

各領域の目的を、研究は「新しい価値を創造し明るい未来を描く」、教育は「明るい未来を担う人材を育てる」、社会貢献・社会連携は「より多くの人に明るい未来を」と設定。それぞれが円了の理念である“主体的に社会の課題に取り組む”“自分の哲学を持つ”“活動の中で奮闘する”を踏まえたものです。これらを実現する「新規事業」「ガバナンス・マネジメント」よって、明るい未来の実現に貢献していくことを目指します。

We formulated TOYO GRAND DESIGN 2020-2024 based on the philosophy of Enryo Inoue, the founder of the university, who believed in “Improving oneself for the benefit of others,” with a focus on the following five fields: research, education, and social contribution & collaboration as well as new projects and governance & management. The latter two are necessary to foster the first three.

We also set specific targets for research, education, and social contribution & collaboration, respectively, as follows: create new value for a bright future; develop leaders for a bright future; and help ensure a bright future for more people. These targets correspond to what Enryo Inoue upheld as part of his philosophy: tackle social issues proactively; have one’s own philosophy; and strive in action. We will work to achieve the targets by fostering new projects as well as governance & management.

赤羽台キャンパスの整備計画 Improvement plan for the Akabanedai Campus

2021年竣工の新校舎（B地区）

ライフデザイン学部等の移転に合わせ、建築家の隈研吾氏の設計による地下1階・地上9階建ての新校舎が竣工します。

New school building to be completed in 2021 (District B)

The new school building, which has one floor underground and nine floors aboveground, is designed by Kengo Kuma, one of the world’s leading architects. It will be completed in time for the relocation of the Faculty of Human Life Design and others.

2022年竣工の国際学生寮（D地区）

2022年4月に、D地区に国際学生寮が完成予定です。300人程度が受け入れ可能で、その内半数が外国人留学生となる予定です。

2023年竣工の新校舎（C地区）

C地区には、2023年4月に新校舎と体育館が完成予定です。こちらも隈研吾氏の設計で、キャンパス全体に一体感を演出。B地区とはガラス張りのブリッジでつながります。また、体育館は躍動感を演出し、サステナビリティに配慮した「木屋根架構」を採用しています。

International dormitory for students to be completed in 2022 (District D)

A dormitory that can accommodate around 300 students will be completed in District D in April 2022, and about a half of its residents will be international students.

New school building to be completed in 2023 (District C)

In District C, a new school building, a library, and a gymnasium will be completed in April 2023. These are also designed by Kengo Kuma to achieve an integrated design for the whole campus. A glazed bridge will connect District C to District B. For the gymnasium, which is designed to look dynamic, a wooden framed structure is adopted for the roof in consideration of sustainability.

ライフデザイン学部等を移転
朝霞キャンパスから赤羽台キャンパスへ移転

社会学部 国際社会学科を開設 ※1

社会・文化・地域に関する専門知識に基づいて、多文化共生と多様性の推進・活用（ダイバーシティ・マネジメント）を実践的に担うことのできる「地球市民（グローバル・シティズン）」を育成します。

2023年4月

赤羽台キャンパスに新たな2学部5学科の開設を構想

ソフト、ハードの両面から「福祉」「スポーツ科学」と向き合う一大拠点として、少子高齢化や健康問題といった社会課題の解決に努めていきます。

We will open these departments to establish a base for education in the areas of welfare and sports science toward the solution of social issues such as the decreasing birthrate and aging society and health problems.
