TOYO SPORTS CENTER opened on April 1, 2023, as a facility founded on the university’s TOYO SPORTS VISION. Comprised of three sections—a Top Athlete Support Section, a Sports Collaboration Section, and a Management Section—the center will strengthen and support athletes while developing regional cooperation and making a social contribution. It will also foster a university-wide culture of encouragement and nurture human resources through sports.
Long ago, the land of Hakusan, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, where Toyo University is based, was called Keiseigakubo (basin of the rooster’s crow). Legend has it that local people heard cock-a-doodle-dooing every night and, thinking it odd, dug up the ground, whereupon they uncovered a golden rooster.
BEAMS SPORTS designed a new unifying logo covering all of Toyo University’s sports programs based on this legendary bird.
Original merchandise featuring the logo, including items for supporting the university’s athletes, will be available at Toyo University’s Original Goods Shop in the future.
