Commuter Pass/Enrolment Certificate

To purchase a commuter pass of Japan Railway, private railways, subways or other transport companies, you need to write your year of study, current address and commuting route (including any buses you may use) on the sticker for your Student ID Card (using a pen or ball-point pen), attach the sticker to the back of your Student ID Card, and present it to the sales office. Your Student ID Card will be invalid if there is no sticker attached to the back. Furthermore, you need to submit a separate Enrolment Certificate in the following cases. Please apply for an Enrolment Certificate at the Student Support Section.

  1. When purchasing a commuter pass from a private bus company (only for some companies). (Please check if you need the Enrolment Certificate at their sales office.)
  2. When purchasing a commuter pass to commute to a place outside the University for purposes such as practicum.
  3. When a student at the Hakusan Campus purchases a commuter pass to go to General Sport Center on the Asaka Campus for lessons.
  • If your commuting route changes due to a change of address, you need to submit a Notice of Address Change and have a new sticker for your Student ID Card issued. Please go to the Student Support Section to carry out the necessary procedures. You also need to apply for a new sticker at the Student Support Section if you wish to change your commuting route without moving house. If you change any items written on your sticker without the University’s confirmation/correction stamp, your Student ID Card will be invalid.
  • You are not allowed to purchase a commuter pass for purposes such as traveling to club activities, part-time jobs, job-seeking activities, or any other activities that are not your regular classes. In addition, the commuting route for your commuter pass must be the shortest route between your current address and the University. Any wrongful use of commuter passes will result in the payment of a surcharge, in addition to the University being suspended from issuing student discounts. This will cause inconvenience to many students. We urge you to purchase your commuter pass in an appropriate manner.
  • If there is no space left on the Issuance Record of Commuting Pass on the sticker attached to the back of your Student ID Card or if the space becomes dirty, you may bring your Student ID Card to the Student Support Section and apply for a new sticker.
