Toyo University has various scholarships and awards to aid international students studying at their own expense to further their education and social contributions. University scholarships are available for international students studying at their own expense with the status of residence of "College (Pre-college) Student".

Government and Other Scholarships

Japanese Government Scholarships for International Students funded by the national government, foundations, public service corporations, private businesses, and many nongovernment organizations take applications for scholarship students. For details on applications, check the Student Life Office bulletin board. There may be changes to eligibility, so be sure to check the bulletin board. For those interested in applying, letters of recommendations will be require time, so be sure to prepare enough time beforehand.

Recommendations will refer to scholastic performance.

Note:

  1. Credits acquired in the above chart are prerequisites for graduation.
  2. Eligibility for exemptions for new students shall be based on completed class registration, and for 2nd years shall be based on their steady progress towards graduation and GPA standards from the chart above. However, perennial undergraduates who are absent from school in the spring or autumn semester shall not have credits counted for the year during absence, and shall be judged based on accumulated credits at the end of the previous year.
  3. For readmitted or returning students, eligibility shall be based on grades while in school according to the chart above.
