Faculty of Science and Engineering

Educational Goal

We aspire to cultivate practical researchers and engineers who have inherited Toyo University's educational principle that "The basis of all learning lies in philosophy," and who have rich humanity and philosophy leading "21st century type manufacturing."

Overview

In 1961, the Toyo University "Faculty of Engineering" was established, and in April of 2009, it was restructured as the "Faculty of Science and Engineering" in order to produce "technology in harmony with nature and life," which is referred to as "21st century type manufacturing."

Restructuring into the "Faculty of Science and Engineering" was done to clarify the fusion of "Engineering Knowledge," which is human-centric technology including safety, comfortability, and cost, with "Scientific Knowledge," which is based on natural laws including the Universe, the Earth, and life.

Toyo University's educational principle that "The basis of all learning lies in philosophy" has been passed down, and the Faculty of Engineering observed the Faculty principle of "developing practical engineers with philosophy." Such accumulated accomplishments were integrated into the six new departments. By promoting collaboration with the business community, we aspire to cultivate practical researchers and engineers that are human resources capable of handling manufacturing technology required for the next generation, and who have rich humanity and philosophy.

Diploma Policy

Acquiring "Engineering Knowledge," which is human-centric technology, and "Scientific Knowledge," which is based on natural laws including the Universe, the Earth, and life. Becoming practical engineers with philosophy by inheriting Toyo University's education principle that "The basis of all learning lies in philosophy." The achieve this, education cooperation with the business community is promoted, and human resources capable of handling manufacturing technology required for the next generation are developed, while at the same time researchers and engineers capable of carry out work and who have rich humanity and philosophy are produced.
