In order to support people of all ages in their pursuit of happy lives in a brighter future living environment, the Faculty of Human Life Design focuses on the concept of “Life Design” through the development of a quality lifestyle, health, daily living, and a good living environment. To create a richer life and environment in the 21st Century, the Faculty instructs human resources with advanced specialties and comprehensive viewpoints through the acquisition of wide-ranging knowledge and expertise.

Overview

The Faculty of Human Life Design follows educational practices that respect individual characteristics, support human rights, and encourage better living and environment. The keys to study within this school are “Fun and Life,” “Health and Sport,” and “Environment and Creation.” Future-oriented life skills are considered, and life design technologies that promote a diverse and rich life are studied.
In the Department of Human Care and Support, the Human Care and Support Course explores the appropriate responses to changes in life and health that occur throughout life, and interpersonal support methods in a modern, diverse society are specifically examined. The Social Work and Child Care Course introduces effective child development and care methods in order to foster childhood happiness in a nurturing environment. In the Department of Health Care and Sports, knowledge regarding the maintenance and improvement of lifelong health in order to experience a rich life is studied. And in the Department of Human Environment Design, design techniques for daily use tools and products to enhance life, and design techniques for architecture and life environments that promote secure living for all people are introduced.
Human Life Design specializes in the development of diverse and creative human resources who are well-prepared to handle future challenges in a modern, often chaotic, world.

Diploma Policy

Requirements to obtain a diploma from the Faculty of Human Life Design include the successful completion of the curriculum based on the purpose of educational research determined by the three departments and two courses, along with the acquisition of the standard number of academic credits.
Depending on the department and course, the required number of credits may include credits from lectures, seminars, practical training, graduation thesis, and graduation research. In addition to specialized courses in each department, several general education courses are also required.
