Educational Goals

At the Department of Social Welfare, we aim to cultivate students who can put themselves in the shoes of welfare system users to understand their needs and living environments and who can subsequently adjust and develop ways to support the users’ lives within their communities or institutions. These students will have a deep understanding of the welfare environment and be responsible for creating “welfare with the ability” to promote public/private cooperation and residents’ participation.

Overview

The department has put a lot of efforts into training students who will have the ability to provide leadership in the welfare field by providing education that emphasizes practice and exercises. These efforts are supported by the department’s curriculum, which has set up consistent seminars for students from their freshmen to senior years and has considered the cultivation of practical work skills through social research exercises. The department enables its students to develop a broad perspective regarding welfare and helps them learn about welfare based on this broad perspective by utilizing both theory and practice.

The curriculum includes exercises and drills, and it allows students to learn skills that are practical for the field. Each student simultaneously learns about systems, policies, or methods for offering support (such as social work) that match his or her individual interests. The junior year course on social welfare field drills is actually conducted in welfare offices or welfare facilities for children, children with disabilities, or the elderly. Through these various experiences, students become acquainted with the realities of welfare, greatly increase their awareness of welfare, and are motivated to take great efforts in studying or research.

Characteristics

When they graduate, students can obtain the qualifications required for candidacy of the National Certified Social Worker Examination by satisfying the set conditions and earning credits from specified subjects.

To support students’ preparations for attempting the national examination, teaching assistants, directed by the teaching staff, always provide guidance, and they genially attempt to accommodate all students. To further strengthen this support system, the department’s entire teaching staff cooperates to support students’ thorough understanding of the subject content.

 

教育目標

一人ひとりの利用者の側に立ち、その生活環境とニーズを把握し、地域や施設における生活支援を調整・開発していく力量を持ち、さらに福祉環境の特性を把握しながら、公私の連携や住民参加を促進させていく「福祉力」の形成を担っていく人材を養成します。

概要

実習と演習を重視した教育により、福祉の現場をリードできる学生の育成に力を入れています。それを支えるのが、1年次から4年次までの一貫したゼミナールと社会調査実習などの実務面を考慮したカリキュラムです。福祉についての広い視野を持ち、理論・実践の両面から、福祉について広い視野から学ぶことが可能です。

カリキュラムは実習や演習が豊富で、現場での実践力が身に付きます。同時に、学生一人ひとりの興味関心に合わせて、制度や政策、ソーシャルワークなどの援助方法を学んでいきます。3年次の社会福祉現場実習は、実際に児童、障害児者、高齢者などの施設や福祉事務所などで行います。さまざまな体験を通して福祉の実際に触れ、福祉に関する意識が一層高まり、学習や研究への取り組みが意欲的になってきます。

特色

一定の条件を満たして指定の科目の単位を修得することで、卒業と同時に社会福祉士国家試験の受験資格が得られます。

国家試験の受験対策をサポートするために、教員はもとより、ティーチング・アシスタントを配置して、あたたかい心で便宜をはかっています。さらに、サポート体制を強化するために、所属教員が全員で協力し、科目内容の徹底的理解を支援しています。
