Analysis of Environmental Degradation Factors and Development of Community-Driven Environmental Improvement Methods in Inle Lake, Myanmar

 <Background, Purposes and Objectives>
Inle Lake is one of Myanmar's most popular tourist destinations but environmental degradation has occurred in the lake due to a variety of factors, such as lake water pollution and sediment deposition. The purpose of this project is to investigate and analyze the causes of environmental degradationt in Inle Lake, Myanmar, and to propose effective measures for environmental improvement together with local residents. It is believed that their lifestyles and agricultural production methods have been changing, but there was very little data to support this. Therefore, we are conducting water quality  surveys and considering improvement measures based on the results of our analysis. In addition to providing feedback regarding our survey results by holding workshops for stakeholders, we are also conducting a survey of residents' environmental awareness, including their awareness of the environment and the challenges they are facing. Through this research project, we aim to establish a practical recycling-based environmental improvement method with the participation of residents.
