Regarding AY 2020 Fall Semester Classes

Dear Students and Guarantors:

July 22, 2020
Etsuko Yaguchi
President, Toyo University

Placing the highest priority on protecting the lives, health, safety and security of students, faculty and staff, Toyo University has essentially offered all courses in non-face-to-face classes for the AY2020 spring semester under the necessity of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
I understand that as Toyo University students, you had great expectations for your campus life, which would have started in April. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you for your understanding of the Toyo University Action Guidelines, which we issued in June, and your cooperation in staying home. In addition, I would like to show my utmost respect to you for your efforts to continue acting while always maintaining a positive attitude toward learning even in these difficult times.

In consideration of the current situation in which various social activities are gradually  being resumed, we have determined our policy on fall semester classes, which will start on Friday, September 18. Like the spring semester, during the fall semester, we will continue to offer most courses in a non-face-to-face manner, but we will also offer some face-to-face classes while adopting thorough infection control measures. For examples of such measures, please refer to the attached document entitled “Examples of Major Infection Control Measures.”
Please note that since the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Tokyo metropolitan area has recently begun to rise again, class styles are subject to change according to future changes in the situation. Please check the University’s official website and other information sources on a regular basis.

Among fall semester courses, those that will be taught face-to-face, the exact dates on which classes will start, and other details will be provided on the University’s official website and ToyoNet-G in early September.

To ensure that all students can live a fulfilling campus life, faculty and staff members will provide full support. We look forward to your understanding and cooperation.
