Selected as a managing university for the " Japan Forum for Internationalization of Universities (JFIU)" project by MEXT

Toyo University has been selected as a  managing university of the following two projects for Japan Forum for Internationalization of Universities (JFIU) by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology

1. Developing Human Resources with Advanced Japanese Proficiency Through Toyo University's Online Business Japanese Courses

Toyo University will develop the main SGU indicators of "constructing a support system for international students" and "enhancing Japanese language education," and share the educational contents learned by our university through our Business Japanese Language Course (in the 2020 academic year, enrollment application by a total of 40,242 students from 77 countries and regions throughout the world) with Japanese language learners in Japan and overseas. As an opportunity for international education and exchange of higher education in the New Normal of COVID-19, we will develop an environment so that Japanese business language education held on online will lead to results such as "securing excellent foreign students" and "improving the employability of international students."

2. Exploring the SDGs and Virtual Model UN in Asia and the Pacific; A University Network for Online Collaborative Education

As part of the SGU project, Toyo University was in charge of the UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific) International Secretariat for a five-year period from 2016. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Toyo University has cooperated with universities that are members of UMAP to promote mutual online course enrollment from autumn of 2020. By utilizing this experience, we (1) accept enrollment in mutual online courses on the theme of SDGs, (2) carry out PBL (Project Based Learning) type fieldwork in Japan and overseas through hybrid collaborative learning (online and offline), and (3) hold a virtual mock United Nations which is operated by the initiatives of students.
