For family members who cannot enter the Nippon Budokan and graduates and alumni who cannot come on the day of the event, please view the video on your computer or smart phone. This video will be available until March 31, 2022.

Program of Diploma Conferment & Commencement Ceremony

The Toyo University Diploma Presentation and Graduation Ceremony for students graduating March 2022 will be held as described below.
Two ceremonies will be held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, due to limitations on admission capacity. We will rigorously implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at the ceremony.
Please note: Attending the ceremony is optional. Students are not required to attend.

Ceremony date: Wednesday, March 23, 2022
Venue: Nippon Budokan (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo)

Points to note

  1. After careful consideration, we have decided to ask parents to refrain from coming to the ceremony as the number of cases of new coronavirus infection has not decreased, and only graduating and graduating students will be allowed to attend the ceremony. We ask for your understanding in order to ensure the safety of the ceremony. (As of March 4, 2022)
  2. We will check your student ID when you enter the venue, so please bring it with you. Please note that you will not be allowed to re-enter the Nippon Budokan.
  3. Please use public transport to get to the venue. Please be aware that you will not be allowed access to the venue by car.
    Also, please refrain from meeting up with other students inside stations or near ticket gates to prevent congestion.
  4. The vicinity around the venue will be very crowded on the day of the ceremony. Please come to the venue early.
  5. We strongly ask you to refrain from holding celebratory events in the vicinity of the Nippon Budokan or Toyo University campuses.
  6. Nippon Budokan and the surrounding area are non-smoking. Therefore please refrain from smoking.
  7. The ceremony may have to be canceled depending on the spread of COVID-19. In that case, we will inform you via the Toyo University website.
  8. Please contact the university in advance if you have any disabilities or other special needs for participation in the ceremony.

We ask for your cooperation with the below matters in regards to preventing the spread of COVID-19

  1. When you are inside the venue, please wear a mask at all times, refrain from talking to others, maintain social distance, and avoid crowding.
  2. On the day of the ceremony, please take your temperature and confirm that you do not have a fever.
  3. Students who fall under any of the below categories are to refrain from attending the ceremony.
    1) Those who have a temperature of over 37.5
    2) Those with cold symptoms (fever, headache, muscle pain, cough, cough with phlegm, sore throat, runny nose, blocked nose, etc.)
    3) Those who have a strong feeling of fatigue, shortness of breath (difficulty breathing), abnormalities in your sense of smell or taste.
    4) Those who have digestive symptoms such as a feeling of sickness, vomiting, or diarrhea.
    5) Those who do not feel well.
    6) Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two weeks.
    7) Those who have been in close contact with 6).
    8) Those who have visited countries or regions for which the Japanese government requires a two-week observational period after entry to Japan.
     

 

Regarding the issuance of diplomas

We will inform students around the end of January 2022 about the issuance of diplomas, scheduled to take place at each campus.
