Regarding AY 2021 Classes (Classroom Management for the Fall Semester of 2021/Update : October 29, 2021)

Implementation of Classes after November 1, 2021 (Third and Final Statement)

In light of the continuing downward trend in the number of new cases of the new coronavirus, we have decided to lower the Toyo University action guidelines for preventing the spread of the new coronavirus from the current "Level 2" to "Level 1" effective November 1.

As a result, the ratio of face-to-face classes will be increased, and extracurricular activities will be resumed carefully and gradually, with attention paid to preventing infections so that students can engage in safe and secure activities. Please refer to the following for details.

We may change the action guideline level depending on the future infection situation or requests from government agencies. In such cases, we will notify you through our website.

[Conducting classes after November 1]

1.Classes will be administered according to the Campus Academic Calendar on the university website.
2.Please follow the instructions of the instructor in charge of the class.

[Extracurricular Activities after November 1]

Please refer to the Student clubs "Circles" and Extracurricular Activities on the university website.

The recent outbreak of the new coronavirus is a serious situation. Considering this situation, the following policy for classes will be implemented for the fall semester of 2021.

For classes that are scheduled to be held face-to-face, the basic policy is to switch them to non-face-to-face classes until the end of October, in anticipation of a decrease in the number of new cases in the Tokyo metropolitan area and of a certain rate of vaccination. However, the situation differs among campuses and faculties, as well as among seminars, laboratory practice, compulsory courses, and courses related to qualifications, etc. Please check ToyoNet-ACE, etc. for details.

The policy planned at this time is subject to change as the infection situation changes.

I would like to ask that every one of you continue to be aware of the importance of "not getting infected" and "not letting others get infected" and try to behave in a moderate manner.

Dear Students and Guardians,
For those who are planning to enter Toyo University,

Etsuko Yaguchi
President, Toyo University

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, AY 2021 Fall Semester's class has the same operating policy as originally planned AY 2021 Spring Semester, and courses will be divided into "in-person class on campus" and "online class (remote-learning class)".

The implementation method of course for in-person class on campus differs depending on Faculty and Campus. Please see the link below for more information and please be sure that this is the current plan.

In-person class on campus may be changed to online class (remote-learning class) depending on the status of COVID-19 infections and the issuance of a state of emergency. Please check ToyoNet-Ace (LMS for Toyo Students only) for the latest information.

Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.

How We Will Offer Classes for AY 2021 (Third Announcement)

Classes for the fall semester of 2021 will be conducted in the same manner as the management policy at the beginning of the spring semester of 2021. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, classes will be divided into two categories: those conducted through face-to-face classes and those conducted through non-face-to-face (online) classes.

However, depending on the status of the infection of COVID-19, we will make a decision as to how to conduct face-to-face classes. Details will be announced in late August.

We would like to ask all current students, parents, and prospective students to continue their efforts to prevent infection by wearing masks, thoroughly disinfecting their hands, and avoiding the three densities.

How We Will Offer Classes for AY 2021 (Second Announcement

On December 18, 2020, we made an announcement on how we would offer our classes for AY 2021.  However, since then, we have seen no signs of abatement in the spread of novel coronavirus infections, exemplified by the rapid increase in the number of new cases and the government’s declaration of a state of emergency. Under this situation, we have discussed the specifics on how we will offer classes for AY 2021 to ensure that we can provide our students with rich learning experiences, placing the top priority on ensuring the health of our students and faculty and staff while offering in-person classes on campus to the extent possible.

As a result, for the spring semester of AY 2021, in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, we will offer in-person classes on campus for some subjects and remote-learning classes for others.

Subjects that offer in-person classes on campus and how they will be offered differ by faculty and campus. Please refer to the following link for more details. Also, please note that we may offer remote-learning classes for those subjects that we initially planned to offer in-person classes on campus, depending on the status of new coronavirus infections. Our students are encouraged to keep an eye on the ToyoNet-Ace (LMS exclusive for our students) for the latest information.

Also, we will make an announcement on how we will offer classes for the fall semester of AY 2021 on our website and by other communication means after carefully considering the new coronavirus infection status as well as requests and orders from the government and administrative agencies.

We would like to ask for your continued understanding and cooperation.

Toyo University is preparing to conduct as many in-person classes as possible for the 2021 academic year while adhering to infection control measures. We will also offer some online classes.
However, we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and make an announcement at a later date regarding our determination about how best to conduct in-person classes.

We would like to ask you for your continued cooperation in wearing masks, sanitizing your hands, avoiding the three Cs, and helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
