Ms Yuri Tanuma (Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science) finished the “PhD double degree programme” and received her PhD from both Toyo University and Nantes University

Ms Yuri Tanuma (Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science) received her PhD from Toyo University and Nantes University, France (Supervisors: Toru Maekawa and Chris Ewels).

Dr Yuri Tanuma participated in the “PhD double degree programme” in April 2019 and studied “Novel carbon nano structures” at both Toyo University and Nantes University. She carried out experimental and numerical study at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre, Toyo University, while theoretical and numerical work at the Institute of Materials, Nantes University, noting that both universities exchanged an agreement on the “PhD double degree programme” in 2012. Her participation in the programme was financially supported by the scholarships from the French Government and Toyo University.

Dr Yuri Tanuma is the first Japanese student, who participated in the Cotutelles (PhD double degree) programme and received her PhD from Nantes University. She will continue her research in Slovenia as a post-doctoral researcher.

Formation, interaction and destruction of ring- and cage-molecular nanocarbons
