※Counter service starts from 8:45.

3.Library Holidays

Sundays, National holidays, the year-end and New Year's and days set by University.
※ For change in the opening hour and temporary closing, we will inform you on our website and notice board.

4.The person who can use

  • Undergraduates and Graduates, faculty&staff, alumni and retirement teaching staff members.
  • The person who is admitted to use the facility by an a partner agreement about use between Library
  • The person who belongs to other universities who can bring a letter of introduction from the university (institutions).
  • General public can use the library if they bring a letter of introduction from the local and public library.
  • Additionally, the person with director and the vice director's permission.

 ※Toyo University alumni and others who wish to use the library (become registered users)may need to show proof of identity and current residence (driver’s license, insurance card,mail, etc.).

5.Entering the Library

When you enter the library, you need to bring your student ID, faculty ID or library card.
If you do not have your card with you, visit the service counter.
 

6.Leaving the Library

Any material not properly checked out will sound an alarm when you exit the library.
The library reserves the right to search your belongings if the alarm sounds.

7.Service counter and Reference counter

Borrowing and returning please visit the service counter.
When being in trouble about a material search and not understanding how to check it, please visit the reference counter.

Automatic Book Circulation (= ABC)

You can borrow or renew a book with the Automatic Book Circulation (= ABC) without going to the counter.

※You need your student ID, faculty ID or library card to check out  aterials.
※The newspapers, reference materials, microforms and audio-visual materials cannot be checked out. (Some of the audio-visual materials are lendable.)
※Please bring unbound periodicals, audio-visual materials, and materials with supplements such as DVDs to the service counter for checkout. (These cannot be processed through the ABC machine.)

8.Book Return

Please use the book return post installed outside Library for the return when closing.
The material returned to the return post by the next opening time will be recognized as being returned the day before open day.
However, please return audio-visual data and the material by which an appendix stuck to an unbound magazine and a DVD to the counter of Library which received rent.

9.Photocopiers

Materials in the Toyo University Library collection may be copied in ways that comply with copyright law.
Cost : 10 yen (black/white printing), 30 yen (color printing)
※Photocopiers take cash or prepaid cards. (Kawagoe Library accepts cash only.) The library does not offer money exchange service so please have some coins on hand.

Photocopier Rule

• Photocopiers are for copying materials of the Toyo University Library only. They are not for copying private notes or other materials.
• Only one copy is allowed per material per person.
• Up to half of any individual copyrighted item may be copied.
• The latest issue of periodicals and newspapers may not be copie d.
• You must put in a request at the service counter if you wish to copy items currently on loan from other universities or institutions.

10.OPAC and Information Search Area

In the Information Search Area, you can use OPAC to search the library collection, access a variety of online databases or online journals to gather information for your academic or research activities. Note that this area may not be used to write reports or any other non-research purpose.

Wireless LAN Area

The wireless LAN area offers free wireless connectivity for library users. You need to bring your own laptop and follow the necessary setup procedures. Please refer to the "User Guide for Toyo University Information System" for more details.

11.Group Study Room

When you discuss in a group of more than 3 people, you can use the group study room. A white board is installed.
Please visit the front desk to apply for use of a group study room.

12.Audio-visual Area

You can view audio-visual materials owned by the Toyo University Library. Visit the service counter if you would like to view them.
※You cannot view any materials you have brought in from outside.

13.Exhibition Area

Scheduled exhibits are held based on yearly themes with library materials.
