Inviting your family or friends for a visit

If your stay is 90 days or less:

If you come to Japan from any of the visa waiver countries/regions, you are not required to apply beforehand for a Temporary Visitor Visa. If you come to Japan from any country other than the visa waiver countries/regions, please obtain a Temporary Visitor Visa to come to Japan. Note: If you apply for a Temporary Visitor Visa, our University cannot act as your guarantor. Also, we cannot make a referral to a guarantor.

 

If your stay is more than 90 days:

If you want to bring your dependents (spouse/child) to Japan, please obtain a Dependent Visa from a Japanese embassy or consulate to bring them to Japan. Please note that you cannot bring your parents or siblings.

For application for a Dependent Visa, a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Ministry of Justice is required. International students residing in Japan can apply for a Certificate of Eligibility at the Immigration Services Agency of Japan on behalf of their family members that will come to Japan.
