To those who have started entrepreneurial activities during university time and wish to continue after graduation.

International students who have started entrepreneurial activities during university time and wish to continue to do so in Japan are eligible for a maximum two-year residence status after graduating from the university. This status applies on the premise of all certain requirements are met.

As a preparation period to start a business, the residence status of ‘Designated Activities (starting a business after graduation)’ will be issued by the immigration. However, this procedure requires a Pledge Certificate which will be provided from the university.

For those students who are considering starting a business and/or entrepreneurial activities, please contact the International Education Center (ml-intl@toyo.jp) where beneficial information on start-up business groups and application for the changing of residence status will be provided.
