Bringing Prescribed Medications to Japan
If you want to bring more than one month’s supply of prescription medication into Japan, you need to apply beforehand.
Apply to the Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Bureau of Health and Welfare, and obtain a “Yakkan Shoumei,” a kind of import certificate, to bring the required amount of medication into Japan. If you wish to do so, please follow the procedure.
The required documents are as follows:
- Application form for import of prescription medication
- Explanation of pharmaceutical products
- A copy of the prescription with the name of the doctor
- Documents indicating the expected arrival date and place (including an itinerary)
Prepare the necessary documents, and submit them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
When the documents are properly completed, you can obtain the certificate in about a week.
