Issuance of various certificates (graduates and post-graduates)

On April 1, 2021, we launched our certificate issuing service at convenience stores.

This service allows you to 1) apply online for the issuance of a certificate that you need, 2) pay the processing fee by credit card, cash, or other electronic money, and 3) issue various certificates with multi-copy machines installed in convenience stores nationwide (FamilyMart, Lawson, and Seven-Eleven* [in alphabetical order]).
For information on how to use this service, please refer to the following.

Note: The issuance of certificates at convenience stores is available only for those who graduated from our University or Graduate School in March 2013 or after. Those who graduated from our University or Graduate School in September 2012 or before (as far back as March 1970) can only apply online for the issuance of a certificate. Payment of the processing fee must be made at a convenience store, and the certificate will be sent by postal mail.
Note: For Seven-Eleven, the service launch date may be delayed.

How to apply and issue a certificate

Only for the first time you use this service

You must apply to use this service for the first time.
Your application to use this service will then be processed by the department in charge.

・Applications submitted between 9:00 a.m. and noon will be, in principle, approved or disapproved by 5:00 p.m. on the same day.
・Applications submitted between noon and 9:00 a.m. will be, in principle, approved or disapproved by noon on the following day.
・Applications submitted before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday will be, in principle, approved or disapproved by noon on Saturday.
・Applications submitted after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday will be, in principle, approved or disapproved between 9:00 a.m. and noon on the following business day.

Note: Applications will not be processed on national holidays or during holidays specified by our University.

    ・Please register your e-mail address, applicant information, identity verification documents, and other information.
    ・After confirming the application details, we will notify you of your application result and default password.
  2. Logging in to the certificate issuing service
    Note: For the first time only, please log in to the service with your registered e-mail address and default password. Then set a password of your choice and your second password.

Those who have completed the application to use this service:

  1. Log in to Certificate Issuing Service.
  2. Select a print destination.
  3. Select the certificate that you wish to print.
  4. Select a convenience store at which you wish to obtain the certificate (only when issuing at a convenience store).
  5. Select how to pay.
  6. Pay the processing fee.
  7. Issue a certificate at a convenience store or receive it by postal mail.

Issuance at convenience stores

Note: The issuance of certificates at convenience stores is available only for those who graduated from our University or Graduate School in March 2013 or after.

Convenience stores available:

FamilyMart, Lawson, and Seven-Eleven (the service will be launched in May onwards) (in alphabetical order) stores across Japan with a multi-copy machine
Note: The service is not available at overseas stores.

Available hours

24 hours a day, 365 days a week

Note: Excludes maintenance hours of various commercial services and the period for suspension of operations designated by our University.
If any suspension of the service is scheduled, we will announce it on our official website.

How to pay the processing fee for issuing certificates

Launched on April 1, 2021

  • By credit cards: VISA, Master Card, JCB, American Express and Diners Club
  • At a convenience store (pay by cash): FamilyMart and Lawson
  •  By other electronic money, etc.: SoftBank Collective Payment and PayPay

To be launched in May 2021 onwards

  • At a convenience store (pay by cash): Seven-Eleven
  • By other electronic money, etc.: docomo payment, au Easy Payment, Pay-easy, LINE Pay and Apple Pay

Period for printing:

Within seven days from the application

Note: You will not be able to print after midnight on the eighth day from the application, and you cannot receive a refund for the issuance fee.
Note: If you pay (by cash) at a convenience store, please do so within seven days of the application.

Precautions for using the service:

  • Even if you make a mistake with the number of copies or the type of a certificate in your application, you cannot receive a refund of the processing fee for the issuance of certificate that you have already paid, regardless of the reason.
  • All certificates printed by this service are protected against counterfeiting by using POPITA technology. You are not allowed to copy such certificates and use them.
    Note: POPITA is a registered trademark of NTT Advanced Technology Corporation.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and overseas embassies and consulates) will not accept any certificates issued by using POPITA technology. If you wish to submit your certificate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, please apply by postal mail or make a request at the office in charge of the Education Affairs Section of your Faculty or Graduate School.
  • Multi-copy machines are available for use at:

  • Cash payment at convenience stores:

    Stores use SBPaymentService, which is a payment receiving agent. Please enter your payment information and print out the payment slip to be issued after the payment application is accepted, or make a note of the payment slip number and present it to the cashier. The payment procedure is as follows:

    Stores use SmartPit, which is a cash payment service at convenience stores. Enter the smart pit number issued at the time of application into the multimedia terminal at a store to issue an application ticket, and pay for it at the cashier. The operation is as follows.

Number of days for issuance:

After the completion of payment is confirmed, the issuance procedure will start. In principle, if you apply online for the issuance of a certificate by postal mail, it takes the following number of days (excluding the number of days for mailing), however, it may take longer during the holidays designated by our University, so please allow for an adequate amount of time to apply for the issuance.

Precautions for using the service:

  • If you make a mistake in the number of copies or the type of a certificate in your application, you cannot receive a refund of the processing fee for the issuance of a certificate that you have already paid.
  •  It will be returned to the address you have entered under “mailing address.” Please enter carefully to avoid making a mistake.

Precautions regarding the issuance of certificates

  • If you need your certificate to be officially sealed (inside an official envelope), please send an application by postal mail to or make a request at the office in charge of the Education Affairs Section of your Faculty or Graduate School (For more details, please refer here). If you apply online for the issuance of a certificate and receive it by postal mail, you can choose whether or not you wish to have the certificate officially sealed.
  • Please note that once you pay the processing fee, you cannot receive a refund for the fee.
  • If you issue a certificate at a convenience store, a printing fee of 60 yen per sheet (times the number of sheets to be printed) will be charged in addition to the processing fee for issuing the certificate.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and overseas embassies and consulates) will not accept any certificates issued at a convenience store. If you wish to submit your certificate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, please send an application by postal mail to or make a request at the office in charge of the Education Affairs Section of your Faculty or Graduate School (For more details, please refer here).
  •  The name to be written on the certificate will be your name at the time of graduation (completion).

Certificates that you cannot issue at a convenience store or for which you cannot apply online and receive by postal mail

Certificates other than those listed under the above “Issuance method available” cannot be issued at a convenience store or by online application to receive by postal mail, so please mail an application to or make a request at the office in charge of the Education Affairs Section of your Faculty or Graduate School.

Those who have received a certificate

Various certificates that can be issued at a convenience store are protected against counterfeiting by using POPITA technology. Those who have received a certificate issued at a convenience store can confirm the authenticity of the certificate by using POPITA technology.
