Introduction movie (Psychology and Sports Information Course)

Sports sciences using information processing

In our course, we have classes in which students acquire knowledge related to training while actually moving their bodies in order to understand the physical effects of sports and training. In these classes, students can learn about the mechanisms of physical exercises and the physiological activities in the body required to perform proper training. In addition, we offer classes based on the international certification for strength training (NSCA), as well as seminars related to certification for students who want to know how to train for sports and/or who want to engage in sports-related occupations or activities in the future. Through these classes and seminars for acquiring knowledge related to sports, we continue to try to apply the tools of information processing to the field of sports.

Psychotherapy Used by Certified Public Psychologist

In the Psychology and Sports Information Course, the curriculum is designed to qualify students to become certified public psychologist. Through lectures, the curriculum aims to provide students with the knowledge of psychology in general and the techniques of psychotherapy and psychological testing necessary to become a certified public psychologist. In addition, through exercises and off-campus practical training, we support students to learn experientially about clinical manners, professional responsibilities, and ethics that are necessary as a certified public psychologist in clinical fields after obtaining certification. We also hold weekly study sessions outside of class to prepare students for the certified public psychologist exam after graduation. This video introduces art therapy, one of the psychotherapies used by certified public psychologist.

Verification of effects of yoga on body and mind

Research on yoga is one of the themes which the Psychology and Sports Informatics Course focuses on. This section conducts research and practice from multiple points of view such as psychology, sports science, and information science in order to utilize yoga, the physical activity which has psychological and physical effects for therapy and mental training. In this video, we introduce the practice of mental training for athletes and the effects that yoga can have. In this way, the Psychology and Sports Informatics Course uses yoga and various other physical and sports activities as research themes, and aims to create more scientific research results using objective data analysis.
