4-1. Credit System

The number of credits for each subject is defined according to the length of required study time. One credit corresponds to study 45 hours of academic work including the time spent in classes and amount of study required outside of classes (preparation and review).

In general, you can earn credits based on the evaluation of your class attendance and examinations.

Graduation Requirements, Conditions of Course Division, Conditions of starting graduation research, etc. include the designated number of credits to be earned.


4-2. Graduation Requirements and Degree

Graduation requirements for students at the Department of Information Networking for Innovation and Design (INIAD) are as follows:

(1) Earn at least 124 credits from the subjects included in the graduation requirements.

(2) Among “Subject of Basic Education”, earn at least 6 credits from “Philosophy・Thought” Subjects and at least 4 credits from “Economics・Finance” Subjects.

Earn at least 8 credits from “INIAD Basis” Subjects, including 2 credits from required subjects.

(3) Among “Communication Subject”, earn at least 12 credits from English subjects including required subjects (only for domestic students). International students must earn at least 12 credits from Japanese subjects including required subjects.

(4) Among “INIAD Basic Subject”, earn 10 credits from required subjects.

(5) Earn at least 36 credits from “INIAD Advanced Subjects”, including 24 credits from required subjects of your course.

(6) Among “Exercise・Practice Subjects (INIAD Basic Exercise) ”, earn 4 credits from required subjects.

(7) Among “Exercise・Practice Subjects (INIAD Advanced Exercise) ”, earn at least 16 credits including credits from required subjects of your course.

(8) Among “Exercise・Practice Subjects (INIAD Practice and Graduation Thesis) ”, earn 16 credits from required subjects.

 

Awarding a degree

A bachelor’s degree will be awarded to students who have completed the standard period of study and met all the graduation requirements specified by the department.

4-3. Conditions of Course Division

To belong to the course of the second year or later, you must meet the following conditions.

(1) Among “INIAD Basis”, “Communication Subjects”, “Subject of Specialty education (INIAD Basic Subject) ”, and “Exercise・Practice (INIAD Basic Exercise and INIAD Practice) ”, earn at least 22 credits from required subjects.

(2) Earn credits from “Introduction to INIAD: Business”, “Introduction to INIAD: Civil Systems”, “Introduction to INIAD: Engineering”, or “Introduction to INIAD: Design”.


4-4. Conditions of starting graduation research

To take the subject of graduation research, you must meet the following conditions.

(1) Earn at least 100 credits from subjects included in the graduation requirements.

(2) Earn at least 8 credits from “INIAD Basis” including 2 credits from required subjects.

(3) Among “Communication Subjects”, earn at least 12 credits from English subjects including required subjects (only for domestic students). International students must earn at least 12 credits from Japanese subjects including required subjects.

(4) Earn 10 credits from “INIAD Basic Subjects” including required subjects.

(5) Earn 4 credits from “INIAD Basic Excersise” including required subjects.

(6) Among “INIAD Advanced Subject” and “INIAD Advanced Exercise”, earn at least 32 credits from required subjects of your course.

(7) Earn 8 credits from “INIAD Practice” including required subjects.
