Special Feature: Enryo Inoue Coffee Story
Enryo Inoue, the founder of Toyo University, was a philosopher and traveler who traversed the world during the Meiji period. His purpose was to observe the relationships between politics and religion, education, and culture in various countries. He went on tours to observe overseas countries three times in total, which were also opportunities to indulge his interest in coffee culture in various places, from cafes in France, the leading coffee-consuming country, to plantations in Brazil, the world’s largest coffee-producing country.
In collaboration with SAZA COFFEE Co., Ltd. whose representative director and chairman is Yoshio Suzuki, one of our alumni, the original coffee “Enryo Inoue Coffee Story” which has been developed based on the historical facts of the founder, Enryo Inoue’s visits to coffee growing regions such as Brazil and Yemen during his travels around the world, will be on sale from March 23, 2022.
