International Recruitment and Admissions for English-Taught Degree Programs

【No registration fee is required】

Jointly hosted by Toyo University Supar Global University Project Administration Unit
Research Consortium for the Sustainable Promotion ofInternational EducationSponsored by Springer Japan KK

PURPOSE OF THE SEMINAR

With the advancement of globalization, English has become the world’s de-facto common language in the academic, social and business fields. More andmore universities have begun rapidly expanding their English-taught degree programs even in non-English speaking countries. The establishment and improvement of English-taught degree programs, and ensuring their quality, are unavoidable challenges for universities promoting globalization. By achieving this, universities can further overcome language barriers and recruit a variety of excellent international students from the global market. This effort nurtures human resources that can keep up with the rapidly changing world and posses a high degree of communicability in a global sense.
To maximize the advantages of English-taught degree programs, a shift is needed from the conventional “Japanese-style admission model” targeting students at Japanese-language schools to the global standard model in the recruiting and admission processes for international students. Thus, we have decided to invite speakers from universities in Europe and Korea that have proven records of international recruitment and admission, and to hold a seminar to learn about and from their success stories.
