Five Week Study Program At Curtin University in Perth, Australia [Part 1]

Japanese (TOYO Global RDS)

Part 1 : Three Weeks of Intensive English and Fun!

Thirty-six students from Toyo University greatly enjoyed their participation down under in a customized study program that included three weeks of intensive English Studies with two weeks of urban and regional planning studies.

The program was based from the beautiful and spacious campus of Curtin University. Students were warmly greeted on arrival and then dispersed to begin their stay with host families. The home stay arrangements allowed students to make immediate friendships and get support for daily life.

English language classes were taught by four talented teachers.
In addition to the weekly class load, one day per week was set aside for excursions. Participants had the pleasure of visiting tourist attractions in Freemantle, Swan Valley, and Rottnest Island.
On the Freemantle excursion, the students enjoyed the Maritime Museum, the authentic taste of fish and chips at Cicerello’s, and a visit to the town market. The Swan valley excursion led them to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory and the Caversham Wildlife Park. Students were able to interact with kangeroos, wallabies, koalas and other interesting animals.

Additionally, the Toyo participants spent time together on Saturdays for downtown city tours and a chartered bus excursion.  The chartered bus excursion went 200 kilometers north of Perth to visit Nambung National Park.  Students saw unique desert rock formations called pinnacles and enjoyed a stop at the beachside resort of Lancelin for lunch.

The first three weeks flew by in a flash!
