自己紹介

I teach required general English Communication courses for 2nd Year students in the Faculty of Human Life Design. These classes use a 4-skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) approach, so that students learn to use and develop their English skills simultaneously. Building up a “knowledge bank” of vocabulary is very important for learning a language, so many of the class activities involve vocabulary training.
I also teach a class in Sport & Communication which is designed to introduce English language for Sport. In this class, students learn specialized English vocabulary for sport and basic English communication skills for a career in sport.

受験生へのメッセージ

Learning English or any other foreign language is a challenge and takes time and effort. There are no short cuts to learning, and everyone learns at his or her own pace. The best way to learn is to use the English you already know and not to worry about making mistakes. Mistakes are a natural part of the learning process, and help us to improve.
I think there are two important things to keep in mind when learning English: the purpose for your learning and how to make learning interesting for you. You need to think carefully about why you are studying. Is it only for graduating? Is it for travel purposes? Is it for preparing you for your future career? Secondly, in order to make learning more enjoyable (which usually also makes you learn better, you need to think of what you yourself can do. If you try to interact with other students, ask lots of questions about the study topics, and use English as much as you can, you will probably enjoy the learning more. In toher words, you need to be an ACTIVE learner, not just wait quietly for the teacher to give you everything.
