Special Activity on Faculty of Regional Development Studies

“Field studies” are trips to actual locations in Japan or overseas to investigate current problems. Through methods like field surveys, inspections, interviews, informal meetings, various in-situ studies, study tours, and volunteer activities, students can find realistic solutions to the problems at hand. Through field study experience, students are able to acquire practical skills for their chosen future professions.

Internships

To better understand how societies work, the Faculty of Regional Development Studies promotes internships in which students actually work in local government agencies or businesses, both in Japan and overseas. The Department of Regional Development Studies has four categories of practical training: social/economic activities, regional activities, overseas activities, and information technology.
Many students in the Department of International Tourism Studies are currently undertaking such practical training.
