Japanese Culture and Society
～Traditional x Modern, Urban x Rural～
Toyo Summer Program Ⅱ 2018 will examine Japanese culture and society, comparing traditional and modern, as well as urban and rural Japan. The program will be a combination of classroom activities, field trips, and experiential learning. Most of the program will take place in Tokyo, but participants will also have an opportunity to do a homestay in the rural side of Tokyo, a farming village. While there, participants will experience hands-on field activities such as agriculture and so on. At the end of the program, participants will give presentations on Japan's attractive qualities from an international perspective.

1. Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university(undergraduate) as of August 20, 2018.
2. Must be at least 18 years old as of August 20, 2018.
3. Must be able to attend courses and give presentation in English.
4. Must attend all of the program activities from August 20 (Mon) to September 1 (Sat), 2018.
Participants will be graded on attendance, assignments and final presentations.
A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.
Includes: tuition fees, field trips/work expenses, transportation and rural side’s program
Not included: airfare, insurance, living expenses and meals

Once admission has been confirmed, tuition and fees must be paid in full within 2 weeks. Payment instruction will be individually e-mailed to the particpants.
As a general rule, there will be no refund once payment is complete.
