| High-tech Research Center Development Project |
|
 |
| The program is for science and technology fields with especially high social demands, such as biosciences, environment, and nanotechnology. Two of our research centers have been selected by MEXT. Both centers are equipped with cutting edge facilities and equipment, they now function as highly practical educational institutes as well as centers for exchanging research and educational collaboration. |

| The Bio-Nano Electronics Research Center (selected in 1996 & 2001) |
The research center conducts advanced research to discover and establish new learning and academic fields through combined studies on "nanotechnology", "electronics" and "biosciences". Our projects have been selected as "21st Century's COE Program". Many studies, expected to contribute to the creation of new industries, are conducted, including the development of micro-bio analytical systems utilizing our state-of-the-art nanostructures processing laboratory that allows precise fractionation and identification of cells and biomolecules.

| Sensor Photonics Research Center (selected in 2004) Graduate School of Engineering |
| While our modern society relies heavily on various sensors for security, tests, energy-saving, and environmental applications, Toyo University Sensor Photonics Research Center is conducting advanced studies on "the Development of a New Optical Measurement System for Measurements under Special Environmental Conditions". The research group aims to develop a system that will enable highly precise measurements using optical applications under special environmental conditions that conventional sensors could not measure, such as in extremely low or high temperatures, vacuum, and electromagnetic fields. |
