Educational Goals

Toyo University’s educational ideal states that “the basis of all learning lies in philosophy”. We aim to develop practical researchers and technicians who are rich in humanity and philosophy and who can lead twenty-first century manufacturing.

Overview

To create twenty-first century manufacturing which may be called “technology in harmony with nature and life,” the Toyo University Faculty of Engineering, established in 1961, was reorganized in April 2009, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering was born.

This reorganization into the Faculty of Science and Engineering was done to clearly indicate the integration of engineering knowledge, including human-centric technology for things such as safety, comfort, and cost, and scientific knowledge based on the natural world: the universe, the earth, and life.

With consideration to Toyo University's educational ideal, the Faculty of Engineering, which has the “raising of practical engineers with a philosophy” as its central principle, is concentrated in six new departments. We aim to further promote cooperation with the industrial world and nurture practical researchers and engineers rich in humanity and philosophy—talented individuals who are responsible for next-generation manufacturing technologies.
