4 How does the Administration Office contact students?

In general, the Administration Office contacts students by sending an e-mail to their e-mail address ending in "@iniad.org," which is allocated to each student at the time of entrance.
Please be sure to check your inbox every day.

Digital signage placed throughout the Akabanedai Campus mainly displays material information that we want to remind students of and information to be called to attention. Current and past contents displayed on the digital signage can also be checked on the Faculty of Information Networking for Innovation and Design web page, which can be accessed here.

2. Student Life

1 When is the gate opening time of the Akabanedai Camus? The gate opening time of Acabanedai campus is here.
2 Where will lost property that is found on the Akabanedai Campus be reported? Lost property will be reported to the Administration Office.
Please bring your student ID card and inquire with Administration Office during office hours.
3 I want to have my lost student ID card reissued. Please get a "Student ID Card Reissuing Form" from a certificate-issuing machine and make a request to the Administration Office during office hours.
4 I want to have lost magnetic data re-input on my student ID card. Please bring your student ID card and make a request to Administration Office during office hours
5 I want to get a JR student discount certificate for returning home. You can get a student discount certificate free of charge from a certificate-issuing machine located beside the Administration Office.
The limit is 10 certificates per year and 2 certificates per day.

6 Do I need permission from the university to go to the Akabanedai Campus by bicycle? Commuting to the Akabanedai Campus by bicycle is prohibited in general unless you satisfy certain conditions in an application for permission.

7 Do I need a permission from the university to go to the Akabanedai Campus by car or motorbike (including a moped)? Commuting to the Akabanedai Campus by car or motorbike (including a moped) are strictly prohibited.
8 Are there any copying machines that students can use at the Akabanedai Campus? There are no copying machines that students can use at the Akabanedai Campus.

Are there any places where drinking and eating are prohibited at the Akabanedai Campus? Drinking and eating are prohibited in all classrooms, the INIAD Hall and the Media Center.
However, you are allowed to bring a drink into the classroom as long as it is in a closed container.
10 Can students aged 20 or above drink alcohol or smoke at the Akabanedai Campus? Drinking alcohol and smoking at the Akabanedai Campus are strictly prohibited.
11 Am I allowed to charge my PC on campus? You are allowed to charge your electronic equipment in the Media Center, in the classrooms while you are attending class, and in the cafeteria (2F).
* Using outlets in places other than the above is strictly prohibited.
12 I cannot use Wi-Fi at the Akabanedai Campus. Please consult with counter staff from the Media Center.
13 Can I borrow a PC from the University? We do not lend out PCs.
14 Are there any places where I can consult with someone when I have problems with my PC? Please consult with counter staff from the Media Center.
15 Am I able to use Microsoft Office software free of charge?

While enrolled in Toyo University, students are able to install the latest version of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint) on their PCs and other terminal equipment by utilizing a cloud service provided by Microsoft Corporation, "Office 365 Education."
To use this service, you need to sign up for it by using your e-mail address ending in "@toyo.jp" which is allocated by Toyo University to each student at the time of entrance.

16 Am I able to use antivirus software free of charge? We do not provide antivirus software.
Please be sure to install antivirus software on your PC by yourself to prevent security risks.
17 Am I able to borrow books from libraries at other campuses? Yes, you are.
Please access this web page and complete the procedure for back-order of books on line.
To log into this web page, you need an email account ending in "@toyo.jp" .
You will be required to receive and return books at the Media Center counter.
18 I became injured while participating in the regular curriculum.
Does Toyo University have any insurance for students? 
You may be covered by insurance that all Toyo University students are enrolled in "Gakkensai".
Please report the accident to the Administration Office.
* Please be sure to confirm your "Gakkensai" coverage, as it may also cover accidents that occur during extra-curricular activities.

19 There is a change in my phone number, emergency contact information or information about my guarantor that has been registered with Toyo University.
Do I need to report it to the university?

If there is a change in such information, please be sure to submit the "Notification of change(変更届)" to the Administration Office.

20 I moved to a new house.
Do I need to report my new address to the university?

【For Domestic Students】
If your address has changed, please be sure to change the registered information by yourself via ToyoNet-G.

If your address has changed, please be sure to submit the required documents to the Administration Office during office hours.

21 Does the Doctor's Office prescribe drugs? The Doctor's Office does not prescribe medicines.
If you need medicines, you will be referred to a medical institution near the Akabanedai campus.
22 If I catch the flu or other infectious diseases, do I need to follow a certain procedure? You need to call the Doctor's Office immediately.

23 Recently, I have felt depressed.
Am I able to receive counseling at the university?
You may feel much stress from your new environment and student life, which may disturb your life rhythm and impair your physical and mental condition.
If you wish to receive counseling on managing or coping with stress, please download a stress check sheet and answer the questionnaire before visiting the Student Consultation Office.
24 Where are the bathrooms for wheelchair users? Bathrooms for wheelchair users are located at the INIAD Presentation HUB (1F) and beside the INIAD Hall (1F).
25 How can I use a seminar house? From the first day of each month, you can apply to use a seminar house for the following month (if the first day of the month is a holiday, you can apply starting from the next open day).

26 Does Toyo University provide choices for apartments and boarding? Choices for apartments are provided here.

28 What is the INIAD Student Ambassador (ISA)? The INIAD Student Ambassador (ISA) is a student organization that assists public relations with regard to the entrance examination of the Faculty of Information Networking for Innovation and Design.
If you participate in ISA, you can engage in various activities, such as the Manabi LIVE, Open Campus, conducting a campus tour to visitors, and assisting the entrance examination.
The ISA welcomes students who can act as representatives of INIAD and perform activities responsibly.
* Recruiting information for ISA members will be informed by e-mail and by digital signage at the campus.
29 I want to know information about INIAD extra-curricular activity groups (circles). INIAD extra-curricular activity groups (circles) are listed here.
30 I want to establish a new INIAD extra-curricular activity group (circle). Please apply with the Administration Office within the application period for establishing an INIAD extra-curricular activity group (circle).
31 Are we allowed to use classrooms at the Akabanedai Campus for circle activities? You are allowed to use classrooms for INIAD extra-curricular activity group (circle) activities as long as such use does not affect the operation of classes.

32 Are we allowed to use spaces in Shimizu-cho for circle activities? You are allowed to use the Arena Ground if it is not being used.

33 I want to become a member of the executive committee of a university festival. Recruiting information for members of the executive committee for university festivals will be informed by e-mail and by digital signage at the campus.
34 I am expected to have difficulty in paying my academic fees due to sudden deterioration in my financial condition.
What shall I do?

36 If I am affected by a natural disaster, will Toyo University provide any support? If a natural disaster for which support is to be provided occurs, it will be announced via signage at the campus.
If you need any support, please access this URL, fill in a Natural Disaster Damage Form (pdf) and submit it to the Administration Section at the Administration Office during office hours.
37 Can I borrow an umbrella? If you wish, an umbrella will be assigned to you at Administration Office during office hours.
You do not need to return it.

8 Do chimes ring at the Akabanedai Campus? Chimes do not ring.
Classes are conducted according to each instructor's timing.
9 How are students notified of information regarding class cancellation?

【Cancellation of all classes due to bad weather or a disaster】
The Administration Section at the Akabanedai Campus Office will notify students via the Toyo University website or by e-mail.

【Cancellation of a class by an instructor】
The instructor will notify students during class.

10 I have questions about the content of a lecture and an assignment. The Administration Office cannot answer such questions.
Please be sure to ask the instructor.
11 I cannot follow the lecture, as the content is too difficult for me. If you cannot understand the content of a lecture, please be sure to cousult with the instructor.
12 Is absence due to the flu or other infectious disease, or condolence leave treated as a normal absence? In general, such absences are treated as normal absences.
Please be sure to inform your instructors about the reason for your absence beforehand.
13 How can I get information on final exams, mid-term exams, mini-exams and makeup exams? Information on final exams, mid-term exams, mini-exams and makeup exams is not published on web pages.
Please be sure to attend each class to receive information from the instructor.
14 Is there a Teaching Certificate Program in the Faculty of Information Networking for Innovation and Design? There is no Teaching Certificate Program.

Are any scholarship programs available?
The Center for Global Education and Exchange provides grant-type scholarship programs (without the need for repayment) for students participating in study abroad programs.
The scholarship programs cover short-term study abroad programs during long-term breaks as well as long-term study abroad programs for one academic year.

5 I am interested in studying abroad and language learning.
Is there any place I can consult directly?
The Center for Global Education and Exchange provides study abroad counseling by expert study abroad counselors.
The counselors accept questions regarding study abroad programs and scholarships, preparation for application and other related matters.
The counseling can be conducted face-to-face at the Hakusan Campus or via Skype.

6 Is there any way that I can quickly get the latest information on study abroad programs, scholarships, and programs within the university? The Center for Global Education and Exchange delivers free e-mail newsletters on the latest information on study abroad programs, scholarship systems and other international activities.
The newsletters also inform students of various explanatory meetings and how to apply for each program.
We recommend that you sign up for the newsletters.

5. Job Search and Career Support

1 I am worried about my future and employment. Please utilize the individual consultation services available at the Career Support Center (2F).
Consultation covers all stages of career development.
(If it is an emergency, please visit the Administration Office directly.)
2 I want to participate in internships.

Internships have recently had a large effect on recruitment results.
When you apply for an internship or when you are admitted to participate in an internship, please consult with the Career Support Center to check on how to prepare.

How to search:
●Internship offers for all Toyo University studentsare posted on ToyoNet-G.
Please search using the key phrase "internship offer information."
 
●Internship offers only for students of the Faculty of Information Networking for Innovation and Design will be delivered via e-mail from time to time.

●Others
(1) Utilize internship matching sites, such as "Rikunavi" and "Mynavi".
(2) Acquire information from the websites of companies you are interested in.
Details will be explained in the internship guidance. You may also utilize individual consultation.

If you are admitted to participate in an internship, enroll in an insurance program that covers internships.
Please check how to enroll in such insurance in the Administration Office.
(The insurance premium is 210 yen. If you participate in several internships, you will not be required to pay additional premiums within the academic year in which you enrolled in the insurance as long as you submit the documents every time you participate in a different internship.)

3 Where can I get resumes (Rirekisho)  designated by Toyo University? They are sold in the Co-op.
Please be sure that you are not late for the resume submission deadline of each company.
4 Is an absence from classes due to an internship or job searching activities treated as a general absence even if I explain the reason? In general, it is treated as an absence (unless it is due to participation in an internship as part of the class).
As a courtesy to your instructor, inform him/her of your expected absence beforehand.
Please be sure you do not come up short in the number of days attended due to absences from job searching activities.
5 Do I need any qualifications for job searching activities?

No, you don't.
However, there are some professions that you cannot engage in without some form of qualifications, such as teacher or attorney.

If you are worried about not having qualifications, you need to promptly search for information on the business field of your choice and check what qualifications are needed, if any. 
You may also consult individually with the Career Support Center.

6 I have been invited to a job searching school/seminar.
What should I do?

Toyo University can adequately assist with your job searching activities.
Please utilize the Career Support Office (2F).
If you insist on enrolling in a job searching school/seminar, please consult with the Career Support center beforehand.
If you are targeted relentlessly by a job searching school/seminar, please immediately consult with the Administration Office.
We will deal with it together.

1 Can I tour the campus freely?

As this university is an education and research facility and retains confidential information, you cannot tour the campus freely.
If you wish to take a tour of the campus, please inform us of the date and time of your visit beforehand so that a person in charge can guide you around.
