Food Science Course, Department of Food and Life Sciences

Admissions Policy

食環境科学科フードサイエンス専攻3つのポリシーThe Food Science Course of the Department of Food and Life Sciences allows students to acquire comprehensive knowledge and techniques including food education and food safety and security based on cutting-edge biotechnology, from the perspective of life sciences. We are looking for students who are interested in food education and food culture, functional food science, nutrition and health science, food safety, or food-related social problems, and who wish to actively and ambitiously solve food-related problems.

  1. Those who have an interest in food-related problems, such as food and health and food safety.
  2. Those who eagerly study fundamental subjects, such as biology and chemistry, to explore food functionality and safety by making use of advanced biotechnology.
  3. Those who have a strong motivation to be proactive in learning.
  4. Those who have an intention and desire to make social contributions based on what they learn in this course.
  5. Those who are able to demonstrate leadership in academic and club activities.
  6. Those who wish to actively work overseas in the fields of life, health, and food safety and security.

Sports and Food Function Course, Department of Food and Life Sciences

Admissions Policy

食環境科学科スポーツ・食品機能専攻3つのポリシーThe Sports and Food Function Course of the Department of Food and Life Sciences allows students to acquire the knowledge of nutrition science, food science, hygiene, the structure and function of the human body, and the functional (nutritional) relationship between exercise and food for health promotion, as well as to, become familiar with expert knowledge of how to take meals and nutrition along with physical activity, based on the knowledge of life sciences. This course is also intended to cultivate human resources acquainted with nutrition science. We are looking for students who have an interest in the nutritional function of food related to sports and other physical activities, and who wish to become food engineers versed in food functional science and sports nutrition science based on the practical nutrition management knowledge.

  1. Those who have an interest in food and exercise.

Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences

Admissions Policy

健康栄養学科3つのポリシーWe are looking for students who wish to acquire expert knowledge and techniques to connect health and food, who want to make social contributions by becoming professional managerial dietitians in the fields of healthcare, welfare, nutrition administration, food, and sports, and who are highly motivated to make social contributions inside and outside Japan, based on the fundamental knowledge of life sciences.

[Ideal students]

  1. Those who have basic academic abilities at the high school graduate level, and who have social skills.
  2. Those who understand that the Department is a place to acquire expert knowledge and techniques necessary for managerial dietitians, and who will do their utmost to achieve this.
  3. Those who have an interest in food and nutrition.
  4. Those who are able to consider various phenomena and summarize their own thoughts, and who are also interested in food, resources, the environment and health problems in society.
  5. Those who have an intention and desire to make social contributions based on what they learn in the Department.
  6. Those who have a desire to actively work as managerial dietitians inside and outside Japan and to play a leading role in the future.
