“EU: Erasmus+ programmes” in Japan and Romania 「EU, エラスマス+ プログラム」の実施

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. The “Erasmus+ Programme”, which the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania, had applied for in collaboration with the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre, Toyo University, in 2017, was accepted by the European Commission, EU.

The programmes were successfully carried out at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre, Toyo University, and the Politehnica University of Timisoara.

1. Erasmus+ programme at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre, Toyo University, from 16th to 22nd November 2018

Professor Romeo-Florin Susan-Resiga, Politehnica University of Timisoara, gave lectures on “Fluid mechanics and dynamics” for a total of 16 hours at Toyo University. The titles of his lectures are shown below.

1.  Hydrodynamics of swirling flows: mathematical modelling and experimental investigations
2.  Hydrodynamics and cavitation at pump suction: variable speed inducer technique
3.  Hemodynamics of helical bypass
4.  Magnetic liquids and their practical applications
5.  Magnetorheological suspensions and their practical applications

Both undergraduate and graduate students and post-doctoral researchers really enjoyed the interactive philosophical lectures based on the inspiring topics for the students from different fields.

2. Erasmus+ programme at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre, Toyo University, from 7th to 17th October 2018

Dr Iosif Hulka, post-doctoral researcher, Politehnica University of Timisoara, had a special training on “Transmission electron microscopes” at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre, Toyo University, focusing on the following subjects. We hope that the training will lead to the progress of materials science research carried at the Politehnica University of Timisoara and future collaborative research on nanoscience/nanotechnology.

1.  TEM investigation techniques (HR-TEM, STEM)
2.  Diffraction on TEM
3.  EDX elemental analysis and mapping
4.  Iron containing carbon onions and magnetic carbon nanostructures/nanotubes TEM investigation and sample preparation for TEM

3. Erasmus+ programme at the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania, from 9th to 20th September 2018

Dr Hisao Morimoto, the Deputy-Director of the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre and Professor of the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Mr Ippei Nio, the Chief of the Research Promotion Office, carried out the “Erasmus+ Programme” at the Politehnica University of Timosoara.

Professor Morimoto gave lectures on “Nanotechnology and nanomaterials” for a total of 16 hours to researchers and students of the Politehnica University of Timosoara. He particularly focused on magnetic nanoparticles and their application to biomedical studies.

4.  Self-organisation of magnetic nano/micro-particles
5.  Fractal characteristics of self-organised patterns formed by magnetic particles

Mr Nio actively discussed the administrative systems in EU with several staff members of the Politehnica University of Timosoara to support international research and educational programmes organised by Toyo University and universities in EU.

The International workshop on “New opportunities for interdisciplinary research in bio-nano science” was held as part of the “Erasmus+ Programme” on 12th September 2018. Professors Toru Maekawa and Hisao Morimoto gave plenary talks on nanoscience and nanotechnology.

4. Near future programme

Ms Maria-Iulia Bejenarius, a PhD candidate of the Politehnica University of Timisoara, will carry out collaborative research at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre as part of the “Erasmus+ Programme” from 17th December 2018 to 19th March 2019. The title of the research is “Patterns formed by magnetic nanoparticles in a 3-dimensional magnetic field”.

エラスマス+ プログラム」は、EU によって組織された「教育・実習・スポーツのためのプログラム」です。ルーマニアの Politehnica University of Timisoara がバイオ・ナノエレクトロニクス研究センターと連携して 2017 年に申請した「エラスマス+ プログラム」が European Commission, EU に採択され、この度、「エラスマス+ プログラム」を東洋大学とPolitehnica University of Timisoara で実施しました。

Politehnica University of Timisoara の教授である Romeo-Florin Susan-Resiga が 「流体力学・流体動力学」の講義を 16 時間行いました。講義題目は以下のとおりです。

学部生・大学院生・ポストドクトラル研究者が、双方向の講義に参加しました。異なる分野(機械、生体医工、電気電子情報、応用化学)の若手研究者が 16 時間にわたる刺激的な哲学講義を満喫しました。

 

2. バイオ・ナノエレクトロニクス研究センターにおける「エラスマス+ プログラム」の実施:2018 年 10 月 7 – 17日

Politehnica University of Timisoara のポスト・ドクトラル研究者である Dr Iosif Hulkaに対して、「透過型電子顕微鏡」の「特別実習プログラム」を実施しました。以下のテーマについて集中的に実習を行い、このことが Politehnica University of Timisoara における材料科学の進展および将来の共同研究の実施に大きく寄与することが期待されます。

森本久雄教授(バイオ・ナノエレクトロニクス研究センター・副センター長、大学院学際・融合科学研究科、理工学部機械工学科)と仁尾一平主任(研究推進課)が Politehnica University of Timisoara で「エラスマス+ プログラム」を実施しました。

森本教授は、研究者・学生に対して「ナノテクノロジー・ナノ材料」、特に「磁性ナノ粒子および磁性ナノ粒子のバイオ医療応用」に関する講義を行いました(16 時間)。

4. 今後の予定

「エラスマス+ プログラム」の一環として、Politehnica University of Timisoara の博士課程の学生である Ms Maria-Iulia Bejenarius が来日し、2018 年 12 月 17 日から 2019 年 3 月 19 日の間、バイオ・ナノエレクトロニクス研究センターで共同研究を実施します。研究題目は「Dynamic patterns formed by magnetic nanoparticles in a 3-dimendional magnetic field」です。
